A while back people were wondering if Microsoft was getting ready to purchase Epic and that is why a lot of the older members of the team were leaving. Nothing ever came of it though.

IMO they will split the team into 2 and release Halo and a new IP much like Naughty Dog is doing with UC and TLOU.
