Thank goodness, Microsoft has seen the light and stopped being such an f'n tyrant. Lets hope this good will expands into next gen with other things.
Only the weekend? Man that is some BS, but i imagine most people are already using Netflix on some other device
I believe MS has sometimes allowed online play on certain games during weekends as well.

They did but only so their sales could be higher than the playstation on Capcom multiplats like RE6 and Dragons Dogma I believe. Capcom favors Microsoft's method of business and ability to extract sales, but I believe they worked out a deal with the demo with Microsoft so Silver members could play the game for a limited amount of time. I don't think Microsoft would've come up with it themselves.

I think it has more to do with them promoting online gameplay and Xbox Live than sales of third party titles. There maybe some partnership though.
I wonder how much Netflix had to pay Microsoft to get Netflix unlocked for the weekend.

Could be, but I think Capcom wants the 360 to be the platform of choice for these games in the west and if the 360 gamers get the demo first they'll gather more fanfare. They wanted the Gears of War sales on the 360 version, I am sure.
