They did but only so their sales could be higher than the playstation on Capcom multiplats like RE6 and Dragons Dogma I believe. Capcom favors Microsoft's method of business and ability to extract sales, but I believe they worked out a deal with the demo with Microsoft so Silver members could play the game for a limited amount of time. I don't think Microsoft would've come up with it themselves. 

I think it has more to do with them promoting online gameplay and Xbox Live than sales of third party titles. There maybe some partnership though.
