Forums - Nintendo - Wii U -UE 4?!

EA is at odds with Nintendo. Nothing they say is relevant. They don't want to support Nintendo for reasons that have nothing to do with WiiUs power or architecture. Therefore they will sell it as a negative item to their investors and others whenever possible to give justification to their decision.

However, as others have said UE4 is highly scalable.

EA says “its not next gen”

Gearbox is working on FPS for Wii U and the other two next gen console and is using the UE 4…

So the Wii U is not next gen but can get the same games as the next Xbox and PS4 and use the UE 4

Can you guess who’s lying?

you are.  epic already stated they will not be supporting UE4 on wiiU, only UE3.  you have provided no proof that wiiU is running UE4.

also, engines =/= games.  scalability of an engine does not mean that any UE4 game can run anywhere.  ..or do you think that games run on magic and good intentions instead of CPUs and RAM?   if there is a big difference in techincal specs between platforms it will affect developers ability to port games regardless of engine scalability.

According to Epic, PC is the only platform where UE4 is available so far, so up to now, they only intend to support PC.

EA just doesn't want to admit they're not supporting Wii U because of financial reasons. Just like the developer of Metro Last Light said about the Wii U's CPU being ''horrible and slow''. Team Ninja responded by saying the CPU isn't slow and THQ doesn't want to work on a Wii U port.

But who cares about EA anyway? Nintendo doesn't need their games.

EA? Who takes them seriously?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

It's just a rumor so far, I wouldn't look too deep into it, but here is where the rumor came about: http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/rumor-new-fps-ip-coming-to-wii-u.452863971/

So there we have it, title says it all, I've heard that Gearbox is working on something new for "next-gen" consoles, and that at this specifically includes the Wii U.

What I "know:"

- Being developed by Gearbox Software
- It's super duper early in development, it's very "bare bones" at the moment.
- It's being developed using the Unreal 4 engine.
- It's a new IP, (currently) So it's something we haven't seen yet from them.
- It's an FPS
- It's multiplatform (duh) but the only version I specifically heard about was the Wii U version.

Other interesting tidbits:

- Supposedly their PS4 devkits recently had a meltdown and they're awaiting new ones. (I got a chuckle out of that)

And of course, all things are subject to change, again this project is really very early in development, so who knows what will come of it.

Personally I'm most excited that they are using Unreal 4. I don't really care much for FPS games. Not sure if this excites anyone else though, clearly the fact that they are using Unreal 4 is a good thing and perhaps answers some questions.

Because DICE is either hugely incompetent or horribly spiteful

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

This arguement is fundimentally flawed. Aside from the scalability of UE4, during the first year or so of a console cycle transistion, it's common for games to be released on both new and old gen consoles so this proves nothing.

Aside from being a rumour this is also so early in development the WiiU version might be axed (probably will if Aliens:CM doesn't sell well).

Wrong thread.

Its a console that play games, if Nintendo want games on it, they have to market it. Simple

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.
