I'm not sure about PS2, but they already used the english 3 when advertising the PS3 in Japan, so I believe they might just use the english 4, which (ofcourse) sounds differently (japanese 4 = "shi" = death; another japanese 4 is "yon" - english 4 would be "hua" or "huoo" in japanese syllables).

PS4k? That would be a stupid name if they did name it that.

It will be called Orbis or Omni in Japan and PS4 everywhere else. iPhone 4 was released in Japan, it did good.

Why would the name be Playstation 4k? to show its to weak to handle 4k? seems legit!

Surely people aren't going to stray away from buying something because of the name, I suppose they could just rename it in Japan to Omni or Orbis but leave it PS4 in NA and EU.

They'll probably just avoid the ordinary way of writing the number.

I expect to see PSIV - that is, PlayStation IV. Which would go well with PS Vita, in my opinion.

Maybe it will be 4 in the west and something ells in Japan like how Nintendo did with the NES?
