Forums - Nintendo - LEGO City: Undercover would lose something on other platforms, says producer

Doyle explained:

“LEGO City Undercover would definitely lose something on other platforms. Chase is actually given a LEGO version of the GamePad as his Police Communicator, so it’s really woven into the story. We started with a massive array of ideas [for the GamePad] but in the end we focused on it being a police device. The map is really useful to have on at all times rather than in a small corner of the screen, plus you receive video calls from different characters.”

I am not one for LEGO games, but this is the first one that somewhat interested me. It looked like a fun game. We shall see how it turns out.

Theres also a 3DS version i believe. I wonder he uses a 3DS instead of a gamepad on it?

I liked the vibe of the story I got from the trailer.  It seemed very tongue in cheek comedy and had a funny bit of dialog.  Seemed like a game that would put a smile on your face.

Well, you could always make a transparent map that could fill the whole screen, which you could turn on and off and times instead of using the pad...

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Yes it would loose exclusivity

And unprofitability.

Other versions don't have a gamepad used so I would have to agree.

I doubt it would lose anything essential. Still, it's good to hear that TT Fusion embraced the Gamepad.

I think this game is going to be a huge success.

Certainly hope so. Cause I'm not getting it. (Really wish the parents will)

This is what being next gen is about. Offering something that the older systems can't
