Forums - Sony - Ni No Kuni might be the best JRPG of this generation.

You and bonkers are very alone in that opinion. Gameplay is good, but the story and characters can't possible be considered good. Surely, no one thinks this.


I liked Blue Dragon, and though the characters were not the the most fleshed out or developed characters in an RPG ever, i found them very likable, the story was decent in my opinion.

Thought I was playing out a very bad Saturday morning cartoon. Events were strung together by a villian who existed just because he was bad.

For me that wasn't rushed, or going unusually slow, just taking it all in, in a manner befitting a solid JRPG journey. How does that logged time, stack up with you guys? Have you beaten the game in 17 hours? Or just scratched the surface? Curious.

Im about 17-20 hours so far and I just finished up Old Smokey.


I believe your coming up on the ship part next. And actually I'm at 19 hours, 17 hours was from an old save file. Enjoying the game then I take it :) Gonna send you a friend request over PSN. It's always nice to have more RPG buddies on my list. I have so few as the RPG fans seem to be a dying breed.

I am loving it, plus my daughter likes to watch me play, so I am taking it very slow.

Hard to get far though because I need to keep starting a new game so she can play the beginning over and over again, lol. She is 3-1/2, but she understands that portion of it because it isn't difficult.

I know what you mean....I have a 3 year old, and she was watching when Oliver's Mum died. She busted out crying, "Why'd his mom have to die, bring her back!" It was so sweet. Now she enjoy's the little girl (Ester) that is tagging along with me, and of course she likes the little familiars.

Looking forward to a great story based RPG since Final Fantasy 13 didn't deliver this gen. I've heard great things about this game.

Dark Souls was awesome, but it wasn't a story driven game.

Dark Souls is the only good JRPG period, all of the rest suck with same geniric stories and generic characters. Dark Souls is a true masterpiece and pure are IMO

Her mom got pregnant when she was 22.

Se ain't finding a man like me, lol! She ain't getting a boyfriend until she is 35.

last one was extremely easy for me. It was the second one I got confused on. I didn't initially notice the lines on the sides of the blocks.
