I'm not yet far into the game so I stress the emphasis on "MIGHT". But m initial impression is, FINALLY, we have a proper JRPG that follows what a JRPG should be, with no missing links. Everything works. The graphics are amazing, the battle system is very deep and tactical (none of that AUTO-BATTLE BS), the game is relatively difficult, the music is wonderful, and the game design just speaks loudly on the amount of effort that came in. My only issue is the story is a little... "kiddy". I dunno, maybe my taste is a little more into the mature kind of stuff.

Buy it. Even if you don't like JRPGs, even just marvelling at the stunning graphics is worth the price.

I really like xenoblade

yep, Ni No Kuni is epic. this game is the closest you'll ever get to playing in an anime.

It's funny because Xenoblade and Ni no Kuni both flopped pretty miserably in Japan.

Yet they are met to rave review outside. Just goes to show the immense differences in taste.

I wouldn't go that far i'm not done with it yet though. Still it is really top notch.

Have to wait until I leave and come back from basic training but I plan on giving my money to Level 5 for this game.

I will find out when I start playing it. My extra Wizard Edition is coming in tomorrow so I'll start the game late this week.

This happens a lot to great games without a huge name. You see Final fantasy games of questionable quality selling millions, or games attached to a well known anime selling in the hundreds of thousands, but Xenoblade or Ni no Kuni bombing due to lack of public perception. I'm sure that if Xenoblade was called Final Fantasy XIII Versus, or Ni no Kuni vas called Dragon Quest X it would have sold millions.

PS: This also happens in western countries, new franchises at the end of the generation tend to bomb, as users tend to buy well known franchises.

the only way you can get new series to grow is to shove it down our throats. bundle it like hell and ads everywhere, most people dont like taking risks on spending moneyon a game they may not like. btw Ninokuni did alright if you look at ds sales. it came out first on the more prefered console. but yeah slapping on an anime in japan is like slapping on a sports license in US
