im sorry but its so hard to take you serious with that avatar weezy--every time i see it for some reason i think you are typing in a joke
it would be like (not that you are) a midget wrestler, with a rubber chicken in his hand, dancing to polka, while five monkey in cloths with floating captions riding bikes, tried to tell you something--thats just what i see in my head
EDIT--i am not trying to rip on ya it just that the avatar make me laugh

^he did the same to me--i cracked a joke and got the ban hammer for almost a week with out a warning-it was my first time for a ban to--so i feel ya pain

@ Rol
Please change your avatar. Everytime I see her I want to curl up and cry.
OT: Yeah, you'd expect a senior member of the site to get at least a PM or warning, not banned out of the blue. That is so sucky. I think that ssj12 is a little ban-happy (Hope I don't get banned for that remark)
| RolStoppable said: I think the website needs a protocol or something like that where mods post whom they banned for which reason. This protocol would of course only be accessible by the mods. Each mod writes down/copypastes the reported post(s), reason for ban, length of ban and signs it with his name. |
That sounds like something the mods would like to see, I hope. Good idea Rol!

Well said, RolStoppable.
This is similar to the system we have at Seriously! Forums. There is a section in each user's profile called "user notes", which is only accessible by moderators. It's very helpful in remembering repeated offenses and in keeping everyone accountable for any administrative action taken. Whenever there's a question, you can go right to the user notes and see what happened. The more information is available, the easier the moderators' jobs are, and the more confidence the community has in their moderators.
This thread is the final prove that bans on this page are not well balanced. It really depends on the mood of the mods that are online if someone is banned or not, and this is very bad for the reputation of the page.
I think we need to do a few things to improve this. One is to make such a protocol as Rol suggested.
The second thing is that posts from a banned user shouldn't be displayed empty anymore, this makes it absolutely impossible for people to find out why someone was banned. Also, it is very annoying to look through a thread and have empty posts all the time just because the poster is banned for something he did in a completely different thread.
The third thing is, bans from mods shouldn't be definitive before stof and benkenobi have checked them. From what I understand, those two are the "chief-mods" and they should decide who is banned and who isn't, this is the only possibility to make sure that the bans are balanced.
Those things have all been brought up a lot of times already, and the system is still not working. We need to change that now if we want VGChartz to become a big website with a good reputation; it can't be that we have to (legitimately) discuss the same topic every time again when a popular user is banned.
There needs to be some kind of consensus on how long certain bans should be for what offenses so mods don't just end up banning people for a week for something as vague as "spamming" or "trolling," and when it's a known member there should be some way to discuss/check between the mods so that we don't end up with more bullshit bans like Rol's.
Seriously, half of the forum was banned this past week. Right after kn made that thread pretending liek the board was in utter chaos and DK followedi t up with a threat thread, it was like everyone had to die and there were bullshit bans handed out left and right. Maybe certain mods should lay off the button for awhile and think about it, it seems like that threat thread okay powertripping.
And how did leo-j end up with 45 days?
