Just imagine, if the WiiU applied anti-aliasing to Wii games...

The game looks great enough on the Wii U as it is; jaggies are far less visible and everything just looks crisper (particularly the grass). It would be nice, but I'd expect it to be difficult if the games weren't built with the feature in mind.

Well the Vita does it for PSP games (except the ones that utilize dithering it seems) so it doesn't seem like applying smoothing on the WiiU should be too difficult...

i'm almost done with xenoblade, fuck i've been playing it for about a month now. I'm 60 hours in, best game i've played on the wii. With that said i'm at this annoying part where i have to grind at the end of the game. I've never seen a game that has such an in depth story on any system before. There are so many cutscenes that it's like you're watching an entire anime series with like 16 episodes. People you need to buy this game if you like that type of thing. Not only will you be able to sell it for more money in the future almost guaranteed, but you will own one of the best games ever.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Why would you ever want to sell this game?

Xenoblade is second only to the Galaxy games as far as Wii games go for me. An incredible JRPG that truly knocked every expectation I had for it out of the park, and then some.

I finished it a few months ago after sinking 122 hours into it. By far my favourite JRPG of the generation and my favourite JRPG since Skies of Arcadia: Legends.

I can't wait for X, either, and I would definitely buy a Wii U to play it. The problem I have with Nintendo's strategy so far, is that they're announcing games that could be years away. I'm going to hold off until E3, by which point there should be enough already on shelves to justify buying a Wii U, and hopefully a clearer picture of what's coming out up until mid 2014.

But yes. Xenoblade Chronicles is utterly incredible. It's sold fairly well, and had a great critical reaction. I think it deserved plenty of GOTY awards, too, but was sadly overlooked.

I got given a pirated version of this game from a friend, don't have a wii though. I read online aswell that it was also heavily pirated on US release.

If it wasn't pirated it would sold 1mil easily.

I heard it was pirated 800k times, so if each one was a sale, that'd be over 1.6m.

It's hard to know a game is awesome until you play it. Xenoblade's release so late in the Wii's life - and only after pleading from fans - really hurt it. I mostly gave up playing Wii a while back because I find the SD visuals look terrible after playing in HD. But I wanted to play the game and I waited till I had a WiiU because I didn't want to transfer the save file, and I was curious how the game would look with HDMI output. But I've been totally blown away with the title. I'm only in the early stages, but even Colony 9 is so detailed and vast. I love that everything you see is real and part of the interactable game. There is nothing that is just background. You climb high into the mountains and look down upon the colony in full detail in the distance.

When I say the game reminds me of FFX, I mean that as the highest compliment as FFX is among my absolute favorite games of all time. It's a different game, but it is comparable in visuals, music, unique setting, sense of adventure and a starring character who is both part of the story but also good at being the player's window to the world. Other games I feel it draws from are FFIV(style), WoW(combat) and Halo(setting, visuals). It is also a totally unique experience in its own right. I also like that there is lots of loot to fully equip, and that character appearence is changed by equipment - something that FF often lacks.

just ordered mine online as couldn't find it in any nearby store.

Nintendo should add some of what is in Xenoblade to Zelda like huge worlds and more villages/cities
