Only if E3 is returned to how it was before 2008. Back then, they were true expos, fully open to the public. This meant that a large proportion of attendees were regular gamers.
Now, E3 is an industry and media event, with most attendees being either in the gaming industry itself, or part of the media. As such, there is no longer a reason to focus on the sorts of games that we all prefer. That said, "casual" is very much the wrong word for what they show at E3 nowadays. What they show is mainstream games. And that's how it's going to be every year, going forwards, unless E3 is returned to what it used to be.
