That looks amazingly sick

The part in the video where it appears that the player is hunting a monster with their team-mates over wi-fi, maybe? |
Moreso how the combat seems to be focused on doing damage to specific body parts. Xenoblade had big monsters, but they only had four hitboxes (since some attacks did differentiate between attacks on a foe's front, back, or side). MH Monsters have always taken different damage to different body parts.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

What also saddens me is we will most likely have this game released and finished before we even get FF Vs13 , shame on you Squareenix you have really let me down this gen and imo have been over took by Mistwalker and Monolith soft as the JRPG kings. So all hail our new JRPG overlords xD |
Eh, the fact is I suspect Lighting Returns will have more then a few aspects that were originally meant for FF Versus 13 and were moved over to that game because Versus is so far from having a concrete basis.
That being said, I like the graphics but I'm more impressed that this game seems to be merging the Xenoblade aspects, mecha similar to previous Xenosaga/Xenogear games along with more Monster Hunter type stuff. I mean if it comes together as well as Xenoblade it will probably be one of the best RPGs of its generation.

C'mon now. Watching console gamers boast of graphics is like watching go kart racers touting what's under the hood. There is also a huge difference between gameplay vs cut scenes. What makes X interesting is the action rpg genre in HD on a Nintendo console.
I imagine this is how versus would look if it actually existed.

I love all the people pretending they're not impressed. If you're into JRPGs, it won't get any better than this... Xenoblade is proof enough.
