Black Ops 2 and Modern Warfare 3 beat down competitors as the top two most played Xbox Live-connected games last year, forcing Halo 4 to settle for third, and pushing Minecraft: Xbox Edition down to fourth.

Minecraft placed first, however, on the Xbox Live Arcade-only list, beating Trials Evolution and The Walking Dead in the second and third spots respectively.

Because Minecraft was not created using XNA (or whatever it's called). There are many "indie" games that are arcade games on XBL hence they get put under the arcade section.
