On the whole what is on offer isn't all that appealing. Which I suppose was the problem. I wouldn't lose much sleep over who gets what. I think the most valuable property would have to be Volition studios, and it really doesn't have anything to do with the franchises. Saints Row and Red Faction are basically mid tier at best. What makes them a cut above mediocrity is that they have experience with making sandbox games.

I don't know it might be a good fit for someone who doesn't have a decent sandbox studio like Microsoft and their Crackdown property. Which I feel really deserves a reboot, and I think Volition has the kind of mentality that could fit in well there.

I just hope Volition gets bought by a company who will let them do what they want. SR2 was one of the most fun co-op games ever made, and without a doubt the best co-op open world game, so to see what SR3 had become was a huge dissapointment to me. I think the financial troubles of THQ had a lot to do with how it turned out.

Well what will be interesting is to see if Nintendo has the balls bid and on how many studios/franchises.

This is their golden opportunity to use the money they made last gen to be aggressive.

In theory they should be able to bid out EA as EA isn't exactly rolling in it atm profit wise either.

The only thing that will prevent Nintendo winning anything is their cheapness.

If they'd had a strong stable of IPs they probably wouldn't be in this position. Not every company has piss away profits like Take-Two, after all.

And which properties or studios would you have them acquire? The half-assed Zelda clone? The studio whose interest in Nintendo extended to offering a port of their XBLA game for the 3DS, followed by pulling even that project? Perhaps the PC-only RTS specialist? Or maybe the game whose developer is too incompetent to not rely upon pure processing power?

The only projects I see that are even remotely feasible for Nintendo are the 1666 game and Turtle Rock's game, each of which may already be coming to the Wii U as it is and neither of which are likely to be in Nintendo's traditional wheelhouse.

Not even Take Two really has piss-away profits. Only Activision and Nintendo do, and they hardly take advantage of them.

Hoping Metro goes to somebody besides EA.
