You get banned if you troll Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo. You do not get banned for saying something bad about any company. You certainly do not get treated differently depending on the company in question.

You do get treated differently based on your own mod history and based on the moderator in question. That last bit is inevitable unless you have all the moderation done by robots and clones, and we don't have nearly the budget for that.

Well of course you will get banned for trolling Sony and Microsoft, but what I'm saying is that mods will hunt you down if you say anything bad about Nintendo. I don't even want to name specific mods but It's so obvious it's like they're not even trying to hide it. You get away with the occasional Microsoft/Sony trolling but with Nintendo you get your ass handed to you.

Parody is allowed, at least as long as a point is being made through it. Outright flame-bating for the sake of trolling seems not to be.

"A is deplorably uninteresting, completely devoid of endearing qualities in comparison to B"

From an outsiders perspective , allowing these "Joke threads is stupid imo. They serve no purpose , add nothing of value to the site and give the impression to lurkers who think they are serious threads, that this sort of behaviour is perfectly acceptable for the site. It also gives Vgchartz a bad image imo.

cause such threads would be uncharacteristic for me. it would be unwise for me to make a thread in the likes of which are being discussed.

Too many of these threads lately have felt like far too much effort has been put in to try and make them funny, without there being any actual humour in there. Perhaps I'm just expecting too much, some of these users seem to get talked up around here for having created a lot of funny stuff in the past, which hasn't seemed to be the case recently.  The funniest thing I've read lately (and it was a "lol Sony" post too) was Chandler's quip about them moneyhatting Monster Hunter 4.

But anyway, to the point at hand, as other people have mentioned, either all those posts in the OP or bannable or none of them are.  Personally, I'd go for none of them, because aside from being perhaps a bit offputting to outsiders, I don't think they're doing any harm.  But still, that doesn't change the fact that the moderations should be consistent.
