I'm less likely to buy a Wii U in the near term with that being the case. I was thinking of buying one by June, but likely it'll be the end of the year before I jump in.

I have to agree, the bad outweighed the unexpected good news. Massive virtual console disappointment

Well that was quite awesome.

Yoshi's Epic Yarn looked amazing, and the remastered Wind Waker looked stunning.

Monolith's new game looked fantastic as well (I'll have to have another look when a higher quality video is posted).

All in all, lots of bombs and even more teases (Can't wait until E3!). A great Nintendo Direct. Enough to bring me back from the dead. ^_~

great ND! Glad I woke up it was worth it! =D

Only thing I didn't like is the VC stuff, why can't I play the games I already purchased without transferring them to Wii U? An account system would be better. Anyway great announcements today, now I'm more interested in buying one.

I think this is very likely, when he mentioned a gameplay overhaul. Maybe a new dungeon? Or would that be hoping for too much...

Let's keep our fingers crossed. Nintendo has to know this was the major weak point in a stunning game.

I will say the only disappointment for me during the ND was that users had to buy the VC games again, it doesn't affect me as much because I only own a few VC game, but I can definitely see how this will anger a lot of people. Even if it's just $1 it should be free.

It would have been nice to see footage for Bayonetta 2 and 3D Mario, but I can wait for E3.

Lots of announcements in this Nintendo Direct!

Miiverse is a really cool concept. Definitely a system seller IMO.

Some of the stuff like Miiverse app release date and Virtual Console and how they plan to improve loading times in 2 separate firmware updates really puts in perspective that Wii U was kinda rushed to market. Delaying it to holiday 2013 would have yielded a much better launch window of games and user experience.

-Yoshi game seems like a disappointment. Seems like they're cutting corners an compromising because of the scale of HD development is a challenge.
-Wonderful 101 seems like a great game
-Zelda remake seems unnecessary IMO. Zelda games are supposed to be system seller and that diminishes when you re-release one of the games. The HD visuals look great though so it'll probably sell well.
-Atlus Collab was unexpected. They need more stuff like this.
-Smash Bros gameplay at e3? Hyped.
-New 3D Mario in development! I wonder what the artstyle will be...
-Monolith game was the best announcement IMO. Game looks awesome!

Overall a great Nintendo Direct. I have even more respect for Nintendo now than I did before and Iwata. His apology for not releasing games this January and February was the right thing to do. Like i said before, it's obvious Wii U was rushed for the holiday season and that seemed to be hurting sales now. I can see it recovering before PS4 comes out.
