Forums - Sony - If the PS4 is not B/C with the PS3's purchased online wares, I will need to be compensated.

I am a huge PS3 fan. You could even label me a PS3 fanboy if you like....that's been fair at times.

But if Sony cannot figure out how to make the stuff we bought out from their store work for the PS4, then I will never buy anything from their online store again.
I don't really care how they get it done....whether through GAIKAI, straight emulation....I've even heard rumors of some dongle'ish attachment thing, and that might be acceptable....maybe.

If Sony can't figure it out, then they've misappropriated consumer trust in their online shit, AGAIN.

And if that's the case, considering how important online has become, and is further becoming in the future, I might as well not even bother with a PS4, because it would be more of Sony Online Incompetence.

Sony better figure it out.....Move Heaven and Earth if need be.....they had better.

PS....A credit refund would also be acceptable.

Do you feel the same?  Explain.

Well, no, you're not entitled to compensation, as no game you've bought on PSN has ever listed "PS4" as a platform it would work with. You're not going to get a refund. However, you're fully entitled to feel disappointment and anger, which is what I would probably feel, and to take your business elsewhere as a result.

Where have you heard it suggested that you won't be able to play PSN games on PS4, though?

I came her to say this exact same thing as soon as I saw the title.

4 ≈ One

No since I don't own any PSN games.

I have no doubt that PSN only games will be supported since they all are lower end games as most are multiplatform anyway. But the bigger retail games could end up being left in the dust is Sony doesn't go with a Cell compatible chip like is rumored.

As for me, I always keep my consoles so while I find backwards compatibility convenient it's not a deal breaker because I can always pull out my old system. With that said, there aren't many PS3 exclusives that I've ever felt the need to replay so I'm not sure if I'll even feel the need to go back during the next gen. I'll definitly want to replay games like the Mass Effect and Portal series but I didn't get them on PS3.

It will play them. They make all the Cross buy games work on Vita and PS3 even though it has no cell. I think the dongle would be for playing PS3 disks in PS4 which I am REALLY hoping they do. Keeps the price of the console down while giving us the BC option.

You still own a PS3 that plays all those titles right? I understand having BC and the ability to play all your games on one system but it is not like they aren't letting you play those games. Chances are they are planning on a solution, be it emulation, hardware, cloud, or even porting. Maybe it won't be for every title. Maybe full retail PS3 games won't even be included and just digital only titles. We won't know until they tell us but I'm more interested in the future games than the present ones which I can play on my PS3 already.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

How much more will you pay for BC? Cell will be impossible to emulate at full power with a laptop-power AMD chip as rumoured, so they'll need to put a full Cell in there with other circuitry and that will be $50+.

Exactly This....

The title of this read and you yourself are so far off, in the name of Sony I bid you farewell and hope you grow up some day
