It appears that Monster Hunter 4 won’t be heading to the PlayStation Vita after all – at least for the time being.

Capcom’s Christian Svensson, responding to the rumor from Japanese gaming magazine Game Lab and a user's question about Monster Hunter's ''disponibility, said:

“There are no plans at the moment beyond platforms that have been announced. Obviously rumors and speculation will continue regardless of what I tell you.”

This doesn’t mean that Monster Hunter 4 will never hit the Vita. Capcom has already brought Monster Hunter Tri, initially a Wii game, to the 3DS and Wii U.

Svensson also said:

“I would not believe everything you read on the internet. It will set you up for disappointment or misdirected frustration.”

I will be glad when either it is finally announced or the Vita kicks the bucket so this tiresome rumor can die.

Why would you be glad that a system you own kicks the bucket? It isn't nice for anyone to fail because its just bad news overall. You know people would only have 3ds to choose from if vita went right?

I love my 3ds but there should be a preference for vita. I am still convinced it has some kind of market.

Well thats disappointing, I was expecting him to respond:

"Well despite this being confidential information, I'm gonna go ahead and tell you exactly what we're planning for the future, ahead of any official announcement"

If they were going to release it for Vita, now is the time (when 3DS version comes out).

Vita needs (sony) to get hardware push, and it wont push as much as it wouldbif released the same time.

Just an estimate Example

3DS=3mil>>>End of 2013
A later release lets says a year from 3DS!
Vita=600k>>> by end of 2014!

With this nintendo takes away most of the consumers cuz of a release so from from Sony's!

Even though I think 3DS will still sell more, Vita could push hardware if release the swme time and it'll take out 3DS chunk of sales...

EX if both release this summer simultaneously....

Oh well, It'll help sony if they release next year but realisticly it wont be as much as a simultaneously release.

Can vita really handle in Japan without any Monster Hunter in the next 2 years ?
Final fantasy X (Japan always prefer handhelds) ,Dissidia ,or a Kingdom hearts can do something but not as much as a MH.. So can we already say that Sony had already lost its handheld battle in Japan? I begin to believe so..

Because has handled the Vita with all the deftness of a monkey fucking a football, and while I've enjoyed the system, I would also derive enough perverse enjoyment from its demise to make it worthwhile.

This really sucks. I won't be getting 3DS anytime soon, but I would get MH4 if it was released on Vita. Pity this wonderful console is being treated this way :(

It will be released on Vita....IF the sales reached the level of sales that the devs want it to be.
