Forums - PC - White noise from speakers? Any ideas?

Recently, I've been getting some buzzing in my PC speakers.  I know the speakers are good because I have been using them for years and I tested them with my phone.  The only change I did was I moved the tower from the floor to the top of my desk to help prevent dust from getting in there.  My only thought is that the electro-magnetics from the PC itself is causing some interference.  Anyone else have any thoughts?

The noise from your speakers has a color? O.o

Seriously though, I had a similar problem once. The solution for me was to unplug my sound recording device, even though I didn't use it.

Your issue is probably something different though.

Could be ghosts

Usually it's the wires that pick up noise. Move the wires or even shield them. Also look for ground loops if you changed the plugging of anything near.

I tend to get white noise from my speakers sometimes too, but they are very loud when it tends to happen.

Maybe something is wrong with the magnet in the speakers?

Your speakers are made by KKK Inc.

Better call ghost adventures or buy new speakers. Could be interference from things such as cell phones.

Might be a tad' bit late to the party but some things you can check:
White-noize is in all cases some kind of interference of the sound signal (or distortion, but probably not)

* Check the signal cable for damage and/or loose-connector & be sure every plug is inserted fully
(the cable isn't touching the plug fully therefore causing a bad signal)
* Check so that the cable isn't running along something that is magnetic, could cause a bad signal (old monitors are extremely magnetic)

be sure everything is plugged in properly, when my speakers start 'humming' its 99% of the time some cable that got a tad-bit pulled out (can't even see it)
hope it works out!
