^^ my mobile changed a few of my words.
A sensationalist gaming journalism article whose majority of the argument is founded purely off his personal disgust at a cash-in iOS game and excels at ignoring evidence of his argument being ridiculously exaggerated. Never seen one of those before. Can't wait for his follow up, The Vicious and Relentless Mauling of Resident Evil once the Revelations port and RE6 Gold are announced.
You're a bit off. Crisis Core was the best/last game. They just need a phoenix down.
A big one.

No, the iOS game is disgusting.
Revelations deserves to be ported, it's a fantasic game lost in the inital poor sales of the 3DS and the need of CPP or awkward controls. With the fail of RE6, Xbox and PS fans deserve to play a better Resident Evil game.

There hasn't been a single FF since FFVII that the fans (and critics alike) have had an overall consensus that it was a good FF and there has been a lot of discussion that the quality of the games have been droping since then.
To some, FFX was utter garbage, to others it was FFXII, some enjoyed FFXIII while others couldn't even play 5 minutes of FFVIII. I doubt that there will ever be a consensus as there was back in FFIV - FFVII days, unless S-E comes out with a genre defining FF again, and even then i'm skeptical about how it would be received amongst such a fractured opinion.
Personally, up until FFXIII, i've enjoyed every single FF a lot, to the point of considering FFXII my second favourite in the series right behind FFVI and to me, the latest iteration wasn't up to scratch to the previous entries (haven't played the sequel).
To me the quality isn't decreasing just because one game was sub-par (I don't take in account spin-offs, because for every shitty one, there's a great one as well), because for all the poor implementation of some elements of FFXIII, as an old time follower of the series, one just have to remind themselves of the disgrace that was the original FFIII, which almost ended the series while it was still on the NES (and yes, Sakaguchi did make the worst FF so far, just as he did the best).
History show us that in this medium, people have very short memories and even shorter critical capacities when it comes to long time gaming series or fan favourite ones.

I like all the offline ones (not counting all the IOS ones which wasn't really on anyones radar it is a cash in but so are all the silly square games they've always made, and other companies),
my favorite are still (mostly) the psx ones... the n64 has my favorite zelda's, My favorite Deus Ex is still the first one, my favorite mario is still the ones before and including mario 64... that doesnt' mean any of the series is dead.

while sort of true from aesthitic reason, FF11 is square's or Enix's most profitable game ever.

Pulling a dev team off a live game for two years to unsuccessfully revive a dead game is one of the worst game business decisions I've ever seen. At least call the XIV fixes a new number.

Despite what people think, I thought FF XII was a great game. I loved the huge open maps and the battle system was interesting too.

If it is anything like the gameplay trailer, I can pretty much guarantee you it won't "suck".
