I'm surprised, but I 100% agree with what you have said.

It's going to be a tough few months for the WiiU, none of the titles coming soon really pack a huge punch. I know they have some big titles in development, but still no release dates on most of them.

I also wander about the lack of advertising. I came up with the following explanations:

1- Nintendo has no money to spare since profitability is key at the moment
2- Nintendo was testing the waters, and is holding back their marketing machine for a big push (Wii Fit U, ....)
3- They thought the minimum push was really enough for it to pick up

The next months will reveal the reason... or even others...

I agree and dissagree at the same time. I think Nintendo has a long way to go to be the top home system of the coming generation. More games, better games, better marketing all needed. That said, WiiU could have had another half-dozen excellent titles right now and a huge marketing blitz and it would have still been competing with a 360 and a PS3 that are cheaper and would have an even better game selection than anything WiiU could offer. And at best they would have sold a few hundred thousand more systems, since that's the most they could produce anyway. WiiU needs a lot going forward, but this is the first week sales are truly dissapointing. Pre-Christmas sales were almost as much as they could get in the best-case scenario. I think Nintendo is just saving marketing doallars and AAA titles for when they actually need it, which is post-launch and especially in the fall when PS4720 arrive.

I don't think it's that simple, Nintendo is really banking on WiI U fit to make them bank, it will be hilarious to watch it tank miserably. Wii U fit is not going to sell over 2 million units by the end of next holiday, I think it will be a real wake-up to Nintendo. They will finally realize that the casuals left a while ago.

Wait for the HD sucessor launches.

Nintendo is in a position where they can badly undercut them, while dropping a few megaton games when they launch.

Also, we have yet to see Wii U Sports. I mean it would be stupid of Nintendo to not make one of those. Like not making 2D Mario for 20 years. (see what I did in the last paragraph?)
