At least until the next crappy PS3 port or generally lack luster game comes out, congrats to EA.
Still, I think I'd consider this on a different level than games because dissing Mass Effect for the things that those people did was a terrible thing.

| Me said: my god EA held nothing back in that letter did they? the total hypocricy of a channel that airs Family Guy saying a game rated Mature is a bad infleunce and aimed at kids. Anyone see the episode of Family Guy when peter took ecstacy? |
lol, or what about the one where Peter and Lois smoke some weed and it cuts to them lying on the couch naked? Even better is when Brian and Stewie walk in, Lois says "Brian..... He's knockin on the back door. . . . He's knockin on the back door, should I let him in?"
But of course, it's video games that are bad for children! Down with video games!
I love family guy by the way and that episode is funny. . . but it still is a talking point about kids.

Or the one where the suicide bomber died went to heaven wanting his 47 virgins and they all were computer geeks, and he yells out "OSAMAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!" at the end. Seriously I watched Family Guy when I was 15. Parents in America are known for blaming other things in society for problems they have with their kids, the media seeing that puts people reporting on those "Video games are bad for kids" stories aimed at the over protective parent so they get their ratings, first parents blamed music for their kids not acting the way they wanted, which got picked up by the media then and reported on, till the generation of people that had their music being dragged through the mud then that generation found the excuse of TV, then that was picked up by the media until that generation grew up with TV blamed it on Video games, which with the help of the Wii and people that were kids playing video games are now parents has started to make the issue subside but it won't go away till someone finds the next excuse to blame.

It was the way they treated their employees a few years ago. See EA Spouse.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
Good! I saw the interview and wanted to scream at fox. The "expert psychologist" when asked if she played the game laughed and said no! HOW DO YOU MAKE AN "EXPERT" ANALYSIS OF SOMETHING YOU NEVER EXPERIENCED?!?!?!
Fox -100000
EA +10
The irony is the Mass Effect is one of the least objectionable games on the market. The rating is probably too restrictive. I would actually rather have a younger player play this game rather then a game with no emotional impact beyond basic blood lust.
The game encourages discerning the difference between moral, and immoral choices. Actually allows players to talk their way out of conflict. Highlights ambiguity in the difference between what is right, and what is wrong. Hell one of the high points of the game is that a major goal is to make love not war. You know heaven forbid that a game promote a positive emotion over a base one.
I would say this if you think that Mass Effect is a bad influence on children who shouldn't have access to it in the first place. Then you must also consider the Bible as mere smut. However I have the feeling that the same people who think Mass Effect is evil are also likely to diligently expose their children to that book, but are also likely to take them out to shoot Bambi.
People are a little paranoid. I'd at least hope that parents can talk with their kids.
I don't know about anybody else, but my parents would rent or buy games that I wanted when I was younger. They didn't like it when I played M games, but they would usually sit down and talk with me and in the end, say that they trusted me to make the right decisions.
lol, played Metal Gear Solid when I was like 10 or 11 and probably around the same time for Half-Life.
It's about time somebody fought back at the media. Bravo!!! To EA.

It looks like some people are fighting back by spamming her books with comments.
"• "I never read the book, don't know who she is, and don't really care what she's writing about."
• "If she does have as much "research" as she does for her tv spots you can expect a book full of complete lies at best. Take everything she writes with a huge grain of salt or better yet save your money."
• "Trying to encourage sexual acts in a book made available to young children is unacceptable.""
Those Amazon comments are golden.
