Anyway people are crazy when saying a $100 price cut, that's insane. Nintendo is not going to cut the price until minimum 6 months on the market and a max of $70

Nothing has much more casual appeal. 2D Mario has both the core and casual gamer. If that game can't sell Wii U, nothing can.

(Zelda is too far off, Smash Bros not coming anytime soon)

For casuals it has to be something like Wii Sports 2, NSMBU only satisfies a fraction of the Nintendo core fans (myself included), a lot of gamers are waiting for other Nintendo games (Pikmin 3, a new Zelda, Metroid, Smash, etc). The sales are really bad, but it's too early to call it doom or that it needs a price cut so early. 

I can see Nintendo making some announcement of games they were planning to reveal at E3, that might help increase the sales a little bit, at least enough to keep the sales steady until an official price cut.

WiiU might be doomed, but its European price (especially on the mainland) is pretty outragous, so I'm sure Nintendo were expecting this to be an issue.

I feel the same way about your statement, it launched with nintendo biggest and best selling franshise and its doing numers like a system that's breathing its last breath, lets not mention blops 2, and AC3  ehich wether you like to believe it or not is killer software.

Anyone who thinks AC3 or BO2 are system sellers is out of their minds. You are talking like a 2D Mario game is the only thing that will make the system sell...

Well THEY ARE, at least on PS3/360.

System seller FOR the Wii U, for the same reason you stayed, most people already have the game for the 360, PS3 or PC.

I say small marginally boost with its release, nothing crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if its still down yoy same week as well.

How is this "not an excuse" but people saying Vita needed big games were using excuses?

 

Because big games on the Wii U are certain, on the Vita, they are not. Nintendo brings their a-game to every one of their consoles, unlike Sony does with the PSV. How many people are making tearaway again? Like 6 or so?

Those Wii U numbers are a troubling.

I'm a bit worried on how the PS4 and 720 are going to perform since they are probably going to be priced higher than the Wii U.

I agree it might be down, but not 40%, maybe 10% for that week. I think 40-45% down for the year is a stretch with arguably much better games and some imminent price cuts for each system.

Well... er... no that's not the reference but you are correct that this is the second rider of the apocalypse. The remaining two horsemen will appear with the releases of the next two major consoles. Then may God have mercy on our souls.
