What confuses me about this Shenmue situation is Sega manages to keep pumping out Yakuza games but they can't seem to do a Shenmue 3.

In my opinion Sega should release Shenmue 1 and 2 on 360, PS3, PC, and 3DS and make a Shenmue 3 with a similar budget as the Yakuza games.

It seems to me people at Sega just don't want to do it.

For an HD remake of Skies of Arcadia Legends, I would surely put my money where my mouth is.

For Shenmue? No thanks.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

10's technology costs different now i bet you if they can make shenmue 3 like shenmue 2 it wouldn't cost them a nickel

Kickstarter won't be enough, even if they would open a PayPal-Page to support it. $10m tops. If Shenmue 3 should be as big as Shenmue 1 & 2, it would probably cost around $100m, maybe more.

An HD version of Shenmue 1 & 2 seems reasonable, doesn't cost that much. A Shenmue 3 however is a completely different story, as I'm convinced that the third game wasn't meant to be the last one of the series. Think about it, the in-game story started way back in the 80ies, who knows what they actually planned for it?
