You must have a short memory span
I can't post a link right now but didn't Sony themselves say they'd be ahead of the 360 by mid-2007? (the answer is yes. I'm looking at the quote as I type this.). The analyst in the OP is wrong but that doesn't mean Sony exceeded or met expectation. It isn't some underdog that is pulling off a tremendous upset. Sony is the heavyweight champion, Apollo Creed going head to head with the bum, Rocky Balboa, and barely winning by decision.
People may have called the PS3 "a Dreamcast" on a couple of rare occasions but people were calling Xbox 360 the same thing for over a year until the PS3 launch. Every console was a doomed underdog, this gen.
Wii: an underpowered console with a TV remote and a breast pump. It was going to kill Nintendo. I can give you the 2006 quote, if you want.
Xbox: Underpowered and launched a year early. A Dreamcast. Would be destroyed by Sony.
PS3: Underperforming and no compelling software. Sony should scrap the console and start over.
Every console was doomed and every console managed to achieve tremendous success. That's the true story of the gen.

I swear on my life that i was just reading about Rocky and Apollo Creed just a few minutes ago before coming back here and reading this comment

but yea the Wii and 360's doom didn't compare to the ps3's doom.
and like you just said, people had so much expectations for the PS3 and that plane crashed HARD after lift off

also i didn't know that there were people that said 360 was underpowered when it came out. When did this happen? or by who?
Edit: the main "doom" factor around the 360 was RROD from what i remember

Personally I wouldn't want it to fail as that signifies a gigantic shift in the market for a dedicated handheld game console, but lets be honest here, the market really is different from 7 years ago.

Pretty much. Yet, more threads about Wii U's doom surface...
Hirai's business practices with PS3 made Sony lose 5 billion in less than 3 years. Appointing him as CEO of Sony was a colossal mistake.

Explain to me how you come to your conclusions? I've been quite dissappointed with the Wii U so far but I've got 2 other great platforms and a handheld to fall back on. The perks of being a real gamer who doesn't care about brand I suppose. As for your Wii U threads... Obvious Troll is obvious. You don't have a Wii U, you will most likely never even touch one but yet you feel the need to make a thread about it almost every day. I'm guessing that will stop as soon as the Wii U starts selling well. In fact I'm quite certain of it. I'm guessing you did the same with the 3DS. No 3DS threads from you now though... Coincidence? Maybe, but I doubt it.
Finally, I find it quite funny to see guys like you say the PS3 is the best thing since Mozes received the 10 commandments yet are the most active on this site. And if it would be about Sony this and Sony that I would understand but you invest a lot of time in a console you don't care for.
So let's hope Wii U sales pick up, maybe then you'll actually enjoy 'your' console more.
