The amount and location of shelf space in chain stores isn't necessarily indicative of sales. Shelf space can be bought/negotiated. So a company might exchange cheaper retailer pricing in exchange for better shelf space.

Is it me or do many stores (Best Buy, Gamestop, etc.) have so many Rock Band units in stock now that they can make a small (or medium-sized) fort?

I am Mario. I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |

I've seen the forts and towers at many stores that have Rockband, at one Future shop they have buit some sort of room out of the boxes with a 40" Tv with rockband set-up. When i bought GTA4 at ebgames they had about an 8foot tower in the center of the store with all the boxes.
I thought I'd revive this.
Im starting to finally see Wiis in stores, but I have not seen a Wii Fit. Still have not. Ever.
Everything else is pretty standard.
in the UK
Tesco:a ton of shovelware for wii, seriously it had me and my horse 2, Gravity (yes a game teaching people about gravity) deal or no deal the game and monkey madness. i almost cried (not really) when i saw a woman skip over both little king story and anno in order to pick up pirate adventures
Gamestation: had lots of infamous bundles and infamous took up a lot of room on the new release section alongside star ocean 4. the wii chart had EA active at 2, madworld at 6 and lks at 7. Punchout was nowhere to be found. the store guy told me that they didnt stock any because it wasnt a major enough release

I'm finally about to get through my backlog of games, so I've been shopping for some titles lately. Can't help but notice that Conduit is selling out at Walmart.com, Bestbuy.com, and in the top sellers on Gamestop and Eb Games.
Is this a small shipment thing or is the game a huge hit somehow?
My guess is most stores underestimated demand rather than its a huge hit but its going to be interesting finding out.
