but graphics are down to a consoles power and lets be honest the WiiU's power is considered on the same level as PS360, it might be stronger yes but not by much. and what is the real reason games like Red Dead Redemption and Skyrim havent been released on the wii? is it because of thrid parties hating nintendo? no thats just a childish claim. its because the Wii couldnt play those games, not in a million years. yes games are the most important, but console power is an important part to getting these games. its why games like battlefield3 released on ps360, it was because they were desgined to last. can you honestly say the same about the WiiU?

Like I said before developers wouldn't have to make an exact game. Capcom made RE: Deadly Visions for the DS and that game worked great for the system. Rockstar made GTA: ChinaTown Wars also for the DS and that game is incredible fun. Okamiden is another example. Good developers know how to work around the systems they have in their hands, it does not mean the games will need to be exact to other versions.

yes developers can work around the systems. but compare the hype/sales if GTA china town wars and GTA 4. they can make good games, but the better/more hyped games will be on the stronger systems. also what you are suggesting is that the developers make an exclusive (less power consuming) game for the WiiU (in this case) of the same franchise. why not have one team make the main game and the other, instead of making an exclusive for the weaker console, develop on another IP and make an entirelly new game

This just isn't true.  "years after"?

The PS3 sold 13m and was at 32.5m at then of its 3rd full year (thats only the end of 2nd full year in Europe).  Nobody thought it would stop at 40m by then.  Year 1 perhaps... but even then not many predicted that.

Yeah, in the early years, the consoles' sales indicated that they would be low selling consoles.

Look at this thread: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=24567

This was April 2008 and most people didn't beleive the 360 wouldn't sell 50m.

In terms of sales and hype there's obviously no comparison between a DS game and a PS360 game, but I'm referring more about the quality of the game. @bold That's actually what happened with the Wii, we saw games like Red Steel, MadWorld, Dead Space Extraction (part of the franchise but an entire different entry), No More Heroes, RE: Umbrella Chronicles, etc. And I personally respect their efforts since most of those games are really good imo.

But it was possible to make a good port of the HD twins, Treyarch did it with the Wii, they made a really good version of Black Ops 2, and like I mentioned before a "better" version in my eyes because of pointer controls, unlike Infinity Ward which made a terrible version of MW3, not even the pointer controls could save it imo.

Nintendo and PC gamer

Are you trying to troll Jay520? The WiiU is a HD console.

They are misleading because the PS3/360 are cheaper and have bigger software libraries.

The true test will be to compare to what the 720/PS4 will sell. At this point, saying the Wii U isnt selling well is premature. You have no comparison basis for it and the economic situation is significantly different then before.

The question is: Will the PS4 and 720 sell more than what the Wii U is selling? Also, will they be really a significant jump on technology or not? I see alot of people judging without having the answer to these questions.

As for the poll, its misleading. The endurance of a system comes from sales and the support of developers (including first party give to it). The PS2 could still be enduring if Sony kept making new games for it, for example.

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

The Wii U will be seen as a special olympics runner after Sony & MS release next gen hardware.

Pretty much this, I'll add that remember when the 3DS launched it had the exact same issues as the U does now where it wasn't selling what people expected then it just shifted gear, Nintendo in general have always had slow first years apart from the Wii. They tend to start conservative then shift gears, it's not a case of being a marathon runner or a sprinter for them they finish the race when they want then move on to the next platform, I'll highlight what NEM has said here even more about people really needing to compare to the PS4 and X3 because how the situation is for Nintendo people are looking at it like a singular marathon when it's more of a triathlon (3 different marathon events in 1). Nintendo have basically finished one part of the race with the Wii and moved on to the next part with the U while Sony and MS are still running the previous part much like with DS to 3DS, the PS3 and 360 won't be here in 4 years time battling the U it'll be the PS4 and X3 and how these platforms start is what the U really needs to be compared to.

You can see this when you look at how the PSP initially outsold the 3DS at times then it became irrelevant when it's successor came out because that's when the gears shifted, Nintendo's first party has shown to give them enough endurance to last a gen and tbh even if not as good as the other platforms I can see third party support for the U being much better then it was for the Wii.

The WiiU will have some kind of PS3 2007 legs.

lol... and the PS3?

I would assume the PS3 predictions were worse considering it was performing worse.

But is that all you have to reply to? Do you agree with the thread?
