That about the generational thing, don't count on it. Most kids today grew up with Western games on HD consoles, go ask any 15 year old kid what he/she plays. Its either a shooter or a sports game like Fifa.
Things change, as Sega's case proved, so nothing is certain.

Nintendo has two strong hardware lines. To them video gaming is their only brand, they will always adapt their hardware to new markets. This isn't something that will change. If the dedicated-console market dies, Nintendo will be manufacturing their own brand of whatever market replaced it, just like how handhelds with removable cartridges replaced handhelds without removable cartridges, and home consoles replaced arcade consoles.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
Nintendo 4 muthafukkin' life!!
I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!
Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Yes most 15+ year old kids play MW or Halo now what does this mean? nothing as i bet you they will still know of Mario or will of played a Mario game and say they dont like kiddy games atm but i bet as soon as they have kids they wont hand them MW8 instead they will give them whatever the new Mario game is. |
Bad parenting. MW is a 18+ game.

Exellent thread, and I also agree with you on this.
Teenagers today that play videogames will try to introduce their kids in this hobby as well, and they will do it early on their lives, say when their kids are 6-7 years old, maybe even earlier. At that age even the biggest fan of FPSs will understand that those kind of games are not appropiate for their kids and instead will rely on games like Pokemon or Mario.
Another thing that works in favor of Nintendo is that they take care that their games are easy to play and the fun is almost inmediate (just look at the koopas without their shell and how their wear pants or dance with the music).
Please excuse my bad English.

Nintendo will always be around because they're self sufficient. Sure they'd love to have more some quality 3rd party support but if worst comes to worst, they can survive without them.

This was meant to be longer with many more words but im drunk atm and i think this will pretty much do as it gets to the point of what i wanted to say anyways. What say you people? when sony and MS are forgoting about or gone onto their cloud gaming apps for whatever device will Nintendo still be the only console maker today selling hardware instead of a service? |
I agree with everything you wrote.Nintendo will still be there when Sony and Microsoft go down.

You should of made a topic about this |
nah too many nintendo and sony doomed threads already.
I jsut hope when the volcano blows it isn't to much of an impact on Japan in general. They have suffered enough disasters in recent years already.
Also if Nintendo and Sony are really doomed to fail, then the game industry needs to be refreshed as you may as well call it a gaming crash.
