That about the generational thing, don't count on it. Most kids today grew up with Western games on HD consoles, go ask any 15 year old kid what he/she plays. Its either a shooter or a sports game like Fifa.

Things change, as Sega's case proved, so nothing is certain.

Yes most 15+ year old kids play MW or Halo now what does this mean? nothing as i bet you they will still know of Mario or will of played a Mario game and say they dont like kiddy games atm but i bet as soon as they have kids they wont hand them MW8 instead they will give them whatever the new Mario game is.

Exellent thread, and I also agree with you on this.

Teenagers today that play videogames will try to introduce their kids in this hobby as well, and they will do it early on their lives, say when their kids are 6-7 years old, maybe even earlier. At that age even the biggest fan of FPSs will understand that those kind of games are not appropiate for their kids and instead will rely on games like Pokemon or Mario.

Another thing that works in favor of Nintendo is that they take care that their games are easy to play and the fun is almost inmediate (just look at the koopas without their shell and how their wear pants or dance with the music).
