Every single Pokemon fan makes the same comment every release. It's the same boring storyline, yet people just completely ignore that. They completely ignore how brain dead easy the single player experience is.

If it wasn't Pokemon it wouldn't have scored as high as it did. Ni No Kuni even scored high despite being an even bigger pos game because the journalists compared it to Pokemon and it's co developed by Studio Ghibli. Too much bias put into all these ratings.

Pokemon´s game mechanics are actually good and fun in contrast to the godawful Pokemon-lite in Ni No Kuni.

There is more to a JRPG than story.

I said Ni No Kuni was an even bigger pos so yeah, means that Pokemon is better.

And obviously there's more to an RPG than story.  Gameplay takes precedence on most RPGs.  Read my review, despite Pokemon having some actual deep gameplay, the layout of the games entire single player(what I meant by 20 hour story,) requires  no use of that gameplay.  When you could solo every battle in a gym with a Pokemon that isn't even strong against the enemies in that gym, something is wrong. Sure, you could try and use the games strategy mechanics, but what's the point in one shotting an enemy or one shotting them because the enemy is weak against your Pokemon's attack or some really good set up?

With any video game you take the good with the bad.  You have to make your way through 20 hours of single player before really getting into the meat of the game, the pvp.  Then the pvp takes a few hours making a good party unless you want to lose.  So, it gets good but you have to put around 20-25 hours before that.  It's like saying there's an expensive diamond in that huge pond full of shit and the only way to get it is swim around and find it.

A shame we cannot answer that question since we don't have Vita sales data :/

doesn't matter that much and we do have digital sales posted by kresnick for Sept-Dec. Vita sales dont add that much more, maybe another 1mil at best.

pokemon XY over 11mil by end of 2013

You have to excuse me but I would use your numbers as facts or even approximation of facts.

there is proof though, vita games do sell well digitally but we got digital numbers in thankz to famitsu, we even kno Pokemon XY digital sales from it!

This thread was just cruel, ConeyG. How could a honorable man make such a cruel thread?

this was made in early 2013, who would of thought pokemon do so well, vita wouldn't? Even your pokemon predictions were easily surpassed

Just in case people (Looking especially at you Lawlight) think vita 's digital software sales would boost this number by alot more, here you go.

*Japan numbers

⇒Sept Best Digital Sales

Ragnarok Odyssey Ace 6595
Killzone Mercenary 6403
Sen no Kiseki 4489
Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate 3853
-(Anything else was under 2,600)

⇒Oct

SakaTsuku 7462
Danganronpa 1&2 Reload 5697
-(Anything else was under 1600)

Cant find Nov/Dec #s yet

My point? Both those months (especially Oct) would nowhere be close to 40k each, so multiply it by 12 and you get 480k in the best vita region. This is wat i meant with digital sales, i think only like 3-5 vita titles had a very high attach digital ratio (might be GE2 im thinking of?)

You disappoint me Conegamer! I thought you were above this console war nonsense!

You're confusing download cards with actual digital downlods. Only Sony knows the digital download figures.

The real question is. How many games are more fun than Pokemon. Just about all of them.

Crappy games sell well all the time.  Final Fantasy 13 for example.  There's a lot of suckers out there.

Wow, how negative. Have you played X or Y perchance? A lot of people, including myself, love the series and it's totally unfair to call it crappy. It was a massive step forward for the series and a return to form, which is why it was celebrated. Much of the fun comes from post game, where you train up the best team to battle online (something which has an amazing amount of depth).

Personally, FPS' don't do it for me but I'm not going to call them bad games. And saying that almost every Vita game is better is a massive overreaction, coming from a big Vita fan myself.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
