Well maybe this comes back a little to the whole "review scores are broken" idea. A five star rating with half stars gives 10 points you can rate - that should be enough if you consider a 2.5/5 as average rather than 7/10 as average... Scores have all become too inflated these days which is why you feel like you need more points at the top end to differentiate.

Then maybe you should change your signature and rate Mario a 4/5

Will we be able to see who uploaded what on gamewise for older games like you have for newer games? Or For example, you go to Banjo kazooie on gamewise and it lists points and who has mastered that game. I just checked swashbuckler for apple2, which I added stuff for. Says nothing. Other PC games az well. Boxarts and banners.

I believe the overall points from VGC to Gamewise were transferred, but the actual credit for the contributions were not (I don't know if he's going to do this, but I wouldn't think so). For example, I uploaded a lot of cheats (video walkthroughs and the like, although the walkthroughs weren't transferred) to VGC, and while some of them were transferred to Gamewise, the credit for those was not.

That's my take on your question, if that's what you're asking. The credit for points for any given game is by the people who have contributed to that game on Gamewise.

Yes, I agree about this, that's why I mentioned PCZone, they weren't generous at all with their ratings. Obviously, reading often reviews or reading or asking other gamers' opinions before buying, not buying just launched games, and, except a few rip-offs and a few average games, having gathered a library of games consistent with my tastes, the average score I give to my games is quite high, but I know it's a very personal opinion, it won't ever be a professional rating, and I wouldn't trust self-proclaimed professional reviewers giving too many games the high scores I give only to my limited selection of games.

Before the star ratings system was in place (which was only like 2 weeks ago, I think), Gamewise had the whole slider rating thing this site had, which while it was cool, I don't think it was needed. I wouldn't mind seeing something like 0-10, with increments of 0.5, so you could rate a game 8,5 or so, but I'm not going to worry about it.

Anyways, I should get back to work on the site :P

@ mastervg

But he is using stuff that I uploaded. Shouldn't I get credit? You as well. Although he paid you for the cheats. So...:-p

I noticed that before the whole Wise Points were implemented, there wasn't any way to know who put what on Gamewise, as I looked at pages with content on it and there was no credit on the right hand side. You got the points on your profile, but the credit for each individual game isn't there. Anything you do now on Gamewise will get you that credit, though.

Also, I did do more than just cheats, although I concentrated on such because of that reason :P

So ioi when can VGchartz users add games back into there game library? This is something we all want back.

You can now but the game library will be removed at the end of this week.

So if I want to keep track of my collection, you are telling me I need to go to another website that has this feature?

Otherwise all my work is lost?

All of the games that you have added to your collection should be added to your collection on Gamewise.

Now I am confused.

I thought Gamewise was just going to have games you are Tracking and games you Rated.  Is see that all the games I have across my Collection, Wish List, and Tracked games here at VGC have been dumped into the single Tracking list over at Gamewise.  Games I rated here were convered to the Gamewise scoring system over there.  Is it also going to get collection features?

I was under the impression that was not happening.

The Gamewise system is simpler than on VGChartz but the basic mechanic of finding a game (or on Gamewise, any gaming entity) and indicating some kind of affinity for it is still there. It is no different really from VGChartz - whether you add a game to a collection / wishlist or track a game it gets added as a user to game link in the same way, we just tag the relationship as one of those 3 things.

Gamewise doesn't make that distinction currently but we can certainly add ways to tag or group the things you track.

The main difference between the two systems (as I have mentioned already in this thread) is that on VGChartz you add a particular SKU (i.e the PS3 version of Black Ops 2) but on Gamewise you just add the game (Black Ops 2) so the concept of a specific collection of games on specific platforms won't be the same.

Hope that makes sense.

In essence, it would be the same as on here, with the only distinction that on Gamewise, it's not possible to determine which system someone has tracked since it's not differentiated by platform. But yeah, being able to group the games we track (maybe Own, Previously Owned, and Wishlist, as examples).

So multiplat games just have one game wall?  So then you would have people commenting on CoD:BO2 wall about the Wii U version which I can imagine a few users would follow up with why the hell you buy it on the Wii U. LOL...  Being seperate on VGC helps reduce troll comments on the game wall.  However, it still happens plenty of times and I can only imagine it will get worse if multiplats only have one game wall.

Yeah but the discussion on Gamewise isn't meant to be about which game sold more and so on, but about the game itself so it shouldn't really matter which platform it is on

Oh my, you want to bring peace to gaming world!
