So allow me to get this straight:
-This site will retain all sales numbers and the forums. They shall continue to function as currently, and all forum-related points will be retained.
-Gamewise will act as effectively the Game Database, with all contributions from this site carried across. Changing information on titles will be as trivial as Wikipedia; and I believe this is what Gamewise is trying to mirror (I've updated the Xenoblade and Fire Emblem pages somewhat so I "get" this idea).
-gamrReview will function as currently (phew!)
-There will be NO shared homepage between this site and Gamewise, though the accounts will be linked (a feature I felt drove some, if not most, traffic and discussion away from gamrReview).
-Finally, the lesser used functions of this site, and anything which will be/has been carried over to Gamewise will be deleted; effectively leaving the sales homepage, that catalogue (which I assume would link to Gamewise as opposed to their current pages) and these forums, albeit somewhat slimlined.
Is this correct? My advice would have to be that; if the site is coming out of Beta then now would be the time to advertise. I've followed the project closely, and even now I'm still uncertain on the whole premise. Sales numbers and Game Databases are useful, but I feel as though the community around it is the beating heart; remove/limit the forums and I'd imagine traffic wouldn't stay high for long.
We shall see, however. The concept certainly intrigues me, and removing the 'dead' features from this site would just make the whole thing more inviting and professional for newcomers. So I'm all for it. Bring it on!
(Just as an aside, I'm 48th on the gamewise leaderboard; how has Tbone already overtaken me???)
