Forums - Sony - Best Final Fantasy Game On PSN?

Well, if you wanted to start from the beginning you could pick up Final Fantasy Origins. I think that's on PSN. It has enhanced versions of the first two games. However, I would recommend playing the games in their original form without all the bells and whistles added in later. But that's just because I have a hang-up about that.

Otherwise, I think starting with Final Fantasy IV is the best option. But I'm unsure if that's on PSN.

No offense but that's a terrible idea. FFI is unplayable without your characters' attacks automatically redirecting from dead enemies. Also, FFII, even with the improvements present in Origins, is still garbage. I'd have to recommend FFIV and VI, easily the best in the series as far as I'm concerned.

Need some help, i need to know which final fantasy should i get next, i'm thinking off 8, but i heard it isn't good, and i was thinking of 7, but i heard it's way outdated.. :(

Anyways, from your perspective, which game holds up the best? also, how's final fantasy 4,5 and 6? they are available on PSN also, and it looks really neat, loving the whole old school look.

I think VIII gets a lot of undeserved hate, I completed it in 2011 and thought it was great. I played VII for the first time in 2009 and it became my favourite game of all time, so it definitely didn't feel dated for me.

As for 4-6, I have been playing VI recently and I'm honestly not enjoying it that much, but I seem to be the odd one out on that.

ff8 is at the top of my favourite ff stories.

I think you'll enjoy both FF7 and FF8.

Which one you'll like the most I don't know, but my personal favorite of all time is Final Fantasy VII. Its the only Final Fantasy title I've played through over 10 times, and it is the most successful title in the franchise.

Attacks not redirecting just forces you to plan ahead better it's not that big a deal but buying potions one at a time, now that's insufferable!

Sorry, just saw this. I played Final Fantasy (NES) on the Virtual Console about 2 years ago and was able to beat it. It took a while with all the grinding but it's definitely playable.

I haven't played II yet, but I stick by my proposal to play each game in its original form. I always think it's best to see what the developers originally intended for their audience.

That being said, I agree that VI is the best in the series.

OMG! i'm half way up to disk 2 on final fantasy 9 and it just keeps getting better and better, but i'm getting this huge vibe that zidane and garnet are falling for each other, most of it was from zidane's side at the beginning but now i'm starting to nice garnet thinking the same way! YAY :)

Anyways i think i'll start on 8 after this, because it's another love story :) lol, although i heard it's more full on, and happens straight away unlike 9 when they slowly fall for each other :O

I've heard that 7 or 8 is the best game... I haven't played it, but whatever

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash
