Yes it is nonsensical. You still haven't provided what "outshine" means.

Wii already beat them down. Wii-U is here to go against all odds as well as Orbis and Durango (software, hardware and profitability) when they arrive. Software sales alone is a humiliation.

**By the time Orbis and Durango arrives.....its all straight profit for the big N.

The Wii won and no one is doubting that. That is purely attributed to the simplicity and marketability of the Wii to casuals, but can you truly attest that the Wii U has the same marketability seeing the markets Nintendo is now focusing on? I am not talking about the Wii's dominance but rather how their new gen console is competing with current gen consoles with a similar library and on a similiar graphics level. If Nintendo is going to play that game with Sony and Microsoft they better get third parties to support the Wii with the top titles that are console sellers on the other consoles. The first job was done with COD, but what of GTA next  year? These might not be console sellers, but what of Tomb Raider, Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite? Timed exclusives for the 360's initial third party titles helped them take marketshare from Sony which they formed when they joined. Nintendo could well take core Nintendo fans from Microsoft and Sony in the future, but as it stands now if they cant cover all of the top multiplats that are on the PS3 and 360 they wont cut it when the new consoles come unless its dumbed down and the Wii U controller special versions are made to make the Wii U shine in a way Kinect could never do for Microsoft.

Too many ifs, buts, could and what not.

That is an if and but situation in itself. Most devs are already on board with Sony and Microsoft for next gen and more specifically Epic, Ubisoft, Crytek and others are expecting major overhauls on their system that they never demanded from Nintendo. I am talking about issues which people in the media are already confused with Nintendo on as well. They got some third party to go along with them but lets see how it grows within the next couple of years.

Yeah and it's doomed to failure.  It was the casuals that inflated the Wii's numbers not the 3d Mario and Zelda fans and when Sony and Microsoft finally released devices of their own geared towards the Casuals that was the death knell for the Wii.  Just like the Wii, the Wii U's only a step up from the current gen.  720 and PS4 will launch at $400 with all the top true exclusives of the coming gen, and Nintendo will be a third party developer mainly for mobile devices in the next gen. after the one that will start when 720 and PS4 release.

o sweet Jesus....what a post.

oh ive heard that claim many times since the days of the n64. I get a good laugh. Nintendo has been doomed since 2002 :)

It was putoff by them putting out a console that didn't appeal to gamers and that as a result turned out to be the first console from the current gen ( if you really want to count it as one and I'm sure that whether or not it really was one will be argued for and against for  quite a long time )  that turned out to be the first one of them to die in the marketplace.

sorry i don't understand what you wrote.

Could you explain more coherently and concise

The Wii U is destined to be the Dreamcast of the next console generation.

Your statement that you can't judge a console in a few weeks only focuses on the library, there are certainly things intrinsic in the hardware that you can judge in that time frame. If you'd like some examples, could just be that they got the console and hated the OS load times so much they they just couldn't stand it. Or maybe the controller doesn't feel right. There are actually some reasons to return a console before a few months other than "oh they're scalpers or idiots" replies you're getting for the most part.

Ilike what your saying here, but can i add that both 360 and PS3 were a shadow of what they are today. Over the years they have had various patches and downloadable add ons to improve the hardware. Whos to say the WiiU hardware cant be improved in the same way ie quicker loading times, additional content, achievements etc.

I'm a Sony fan, my friend picked up a Wii U for Xmas and we played a few games on it yesterday, in my opinion it's just not next gen, the game pad is cool and I enjoyed zombie U but its not what I was expecting for a next gen system. I'm not saying its a bad system but it just needs more time like any other console for more games 2 come out and have the system pushed.

Just wondering, what were you expecting?

you're right, but who's to say it will be improved?  That's what you have to consider if you just can't stand something intrinsic in the hardware like missing achievements or load times.  Will they improve on that aspect of the console and if they do how long are you going to have to just sit on a console you don't like to use until it's acceptable.  Could be years until they improve the load times, so I don't think "yeah but they could fix it" is a very good reason to keep something you don't like, the library improving is a definite, but things like load times improving may or may not happen and you have no idea when.

bolded.

Confused? so am I. Surprised? nope. It ties to their philosophy and context. BKS.

They are probably, selling them now while waiting for the next big phone or tablet to come out. Some people are like that. I would not be able to sell it, if i had one i would enjoy it too much

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

It's mostly pretty stupid to buy something expensive and return it so soon, which only means you didn't do enough research into the product. Other than that, it happens with every console and electronics out there and the WiiU is no exception.

I don't know why, but its absolutely silly! Why would you buy it if you knew you would trade it in after a few weeks?

Some people are very interesting...
