Forums - General - Do we really need to kill animals??

What if animals start to evolve to hate, and kill humans. I'm sure another 1000 years of this will do that.

If you think anything will change in the span of 1000 years (in terms of evolution) you are wrong. Evolution is a process that happens in millions of years, additionally mistreatment of animals by us is nothing that will affect it.

i didn't watch the video, i'm just answering the topic question

Yes, we really need to kill animals.

Otherwise they would replicate out of proportion, they would eat our crops and infest our houses.

You do know we are the ones that are breeding them in such a fast rate

i'm not talking about domesticated animals

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

You have to think about that:
All the animals we eat were born to be eaten. If noone eats them, they would not be born.

So basically, eating meat doesnt take lives. It gives life.

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

No, i dont think that, I was hypothetically speaking. As if speaking of a situation that does not actually exist, as if it did exist.

Oh well, I thought it might get people thinking.

Well, technically he is right, at least to some degree: The mass production of meat DOES require a higher-than-natural birth rate to fulfill our needs. But his conclusion...no words.

I don't know how you are finding this remotely convincing. All he's doing is ranting. His line about how since animals see with their eyes and hear with their ears makes them self-aware and conscious is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. Nobody says the animal brain isn't functioning normally. Being self-aware and conscious is not a "normal" thing, it's a human thing.

And then a few minutes later he said "could care less" and I gave up entirely.

actually i heard people arguing that way about saving the buffalo

nobody will care to breed buffalo unless they can make a profit. if you want the buffalo to  live, better eat its meat and peole will make sure it will stay alive.

That logic is pure genius. If people wouldn't destroy (or would have destroyed) the natural habitat of the buffalo we wouldn't even need to breed it. I am by no means an animal defendant (I eat so much meat that the vegetarians and vegans in this thread should LOATHE me, but arguments like that are pure propaganda. I enjoy eating meat, but I don't need excuses like that to justify it.
