Like i said watch the video and you will see how it is wrong with facts to back it up. i came here to post the video not to repeat whats being said in it. if you dont want to watch the video please leave the thread.

I don't need to watch the video. It's nothing I havent heard before or don't know. I gave it a shot. The first thing he said was he was there to talk about the oldest and strongest addiction... he ruined his shot.

i am now reevaluating my eating habits

Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5

i didn't watch the video, i'm just answering the topic question

Yes, we really need to kill animals.

Otherwise they would replicate out of proportion, they would eat our crops and infest our houses.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Just ate birds the last two nights, I'll probably eat a cow or pig tomorrow.

I hunt and fish which means I kill animals myself, cut them up, cook them and eat them. When I grew up my parents would raise a steer or a heifer for a year or two and then slaughter it. I helped take care of it and then I helped slaughter it. The beef I eat comes from a local farm and is humanly slaughtered. I know where my meat comes from and I am well aware of nature of life and death. Animals aren't people so your alien analogy falls completely flat.

With that said, I don't approve of the mistreatment of animals that big corporations cause.

However, nothing will stop me from enjoying meat. An hour long propaganda piece on meat isn't going to "open my eye" or make me rethink anything. We are all part of the same ecco-system and circle of life. We earned the right to be at the top of the food chain. Animals are rightfully our food and we are the stewards of the ecco-system that we climbed to the top of. Animal abuse and neglect disgusts me, but local ranchers here in Oregon don't mistreat their animals.

My advice to you is to buy locally sourced meat products from trusted small businesses. Go to a butcher for meat instead of Safeway. Ask where it came from and if the butcher can't tell you the rancher's name go to another butcher.

Fight animal abuse not meat eaters.

I just hope if aliens ever do decide to visit us they dont think like you in the bolded parts.

As for the rest its good you at least care how the animals are killed xD.

I will say it again. Your alien analogy falls flat.

I'll illustrate it with a question:

A scuba diver is eaten Shark and a man eats a hamburger. Which is the greater tragedy?

The man eating the hamburger. Well the scuba divers life would of been a great loss on the grand scale of things both loses where bad. but the shark is a carnivor and will eat meat no matter what type its in their system, well the human eating the hamburger choose to do so.

Basicly in a world where we are meant to be the only animals that "Knows" right from wrong we sure do alot of wrong and to things we see as less powerful then us.

Didnt we outlaw racism cos of this? The white man, or people with money used to think it was ok to inslave and capture other humans as long as they where not white? or the same as them?. so yeah my alien analogy doesnt fall flat. Cos as long as people think its ok to be so crual and bad to a lesser species we have no reason to think a more advanced species then us wouldnt think the same way.

I mean wouldnt it suck if Karma came around to bite us in the ass and we ended up getting captued and taking over by aliens and breed and used as livestock for them?. like they only see us as lesser animals so its in their right to do what they want with us.

Also no one here i dont think have even watched the video -_- .

If you believe that then you need tot ake a vacation and go spend a weekend at a nice bread and breakfast in a nice small town. Unplug from the internet, meet new people and reevaluate your priorities.

If you think a man eating a burger is a tragedy but not a diver killed by a shark I want you to consider how the diver's family feels for their loss. The cow harvested for the burger was not missed by it's herd.

Stop comparing humans to animals. This falacy is the reason your alien analogy is so flawed and why you can't see it yourself.

As a pet owner and animal lover who believes that animals deserve respect and should be treated with kindness believe that there is no difference between a lion eating a zebra and a man eating a hamburger. However there is a HUGE difference between a shark killing a man and a man killing a deer. Both men are loved and love other humans. The shark and the deer are souless.

Do some need to? Perhaps not. Do I? Yes, because if I tried to go without meat, I would probably go insane.

If we weren't supposed to eat meat, it wouldn't taste so damn good, and it certainly won't have health benefits.

Animals eat other animals too btw, and often killing them in a much more cruel and painful fashion than we do. It's just how the food chain works. Life is dependend on other life for surival in a variety of ways, with include consuming one another. God/mother nature made the rules, not me :P

Tell animals to stop being delicious.

There will be many steak-and-mushroom-sauce-devotees responding to this thread due to their beliefs being threatened.

Don't listen to them.

I've been vegetarian for 8 years. I eat amazing food, am super healthy, and would never go back - meat disgusts me. You need to learn how to cook/eat properly now. It's tough in the beginning, because it's completely new, but with enough willpower you will look upon this as one of the biggest steps you've taken in life.

"Vegetarian food leaves a deep impression on our nature. If the whole world adopts vegetarianism, it can change the destiny of humankind." Albert Einstein

"You have just dined, and however scrupulously the slaughterhouse is concealed in the graceful distance of miles, there is complicity." Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Alas, what wickedness to swallow flesh into our own flesh, to fatten our greedy bodies by cramming in other bodies, to have one living creature fed by the death of another! For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seeds of murder and pain cannot reap the joy of love." Pythagoras

"We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals." Immanual Kant

"Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages." Thomas Edison

"My refusing to eat flesh occasioned an inconveniency, and I was frequently chided for my singularity, but, with this lighter repast, I made the greater progress, for greater clearness of head and quicker comprehension. Flesh eating is unprovoked murder." Benjamin Franklin

"I have since an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men." Leonardo da Vinci

"A mind of the calibre of mine cannot derive its nutriment from cows". George Bernard Shaw

So you dont crave meat? if so why do you eat it? every protien you can get from milk you can get alot more from eating healtier foods so if not a craving why do you eat meat?.

whoaaaaaaaaaa are you now suggesting not milking dairy cows? Dear lord and you talk of animal cruelty what do you think would happen to those animals which have a perfectly happy life if you don't milk them?!

A cow's fart destroys the ozone. We as humans eat cows so we all don't die. Eating veggies means eating plants which means less oxygen which is necessary for survival.
I eat meat and I save the world :)

You probably think your joking attitude on this topic is somehow endearing - funny; It is the stock-standard response I've come to expect after being a vegetarian for 8 years. My father - a 3rd dan black belt and lawyer - made the same quip at first.

Funny, how predictable human beings are.
