Playstation is not a short term name. Tell us if Xbox console can sell 100 million... ever!

People still live in the past don't they.

Go check out my recent thread.

The way you guys boast of 70 million 360 sales, Playstation fans have every right to boast. All of their previous 'consoles' sold over 100 million and PS3 still going strong.

you mean 2 did.

and 3 wont... in my opinion

PSP? nope, PSVita? lol.. yeah right, PS3?... nah.

PS3 will sell 100 million minimum, if it lasts long after PS4 comes out. Which is guranteed for a Playstation system. PSP won't (but still 75 million for a non nintendo handheld is a big accomplishment), but Vita is far too early to judge.
PS3 will last at least 3 years after PS4 comes out probably.

It's hard to see Xbox 360, get any support after Xbox 720 comes out. 73 million is excellent for them really, but it has about as much chance to reach 100 million as PS3 does, in my opinion. It depends on many things.

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Is this really cause for celebration? It's like celebrating the 360's 100% marketshare in 2005. Sony is like that person who stays at the party after everyone else has left, insisting that the party's not over yet, unable to take a hint that it's time to go, and reveling in finally being "the life of the party."

I know you deliberately skip words to fit your argument and to bash Vita, that's why I have put the word 'consoles' in quotation marks.

PS3 will be supported long after PS4 comes out that's why it will reach 100 million. That's how they support even the late adopters.

Where's the poll option for "do absolutely nothing because I don't care"? :P

I'm hardly upset, I think it's hilarious.

A. Of you think this is hilarious I have many movies you should watch! You may actually die laughing

B. I don think Sony can be seen like that from a gamers perspective. They release amazing games even after the next gen starts so people still get lots of worth out there playstations if they are late adopters and the PS1 and especially the PS2 haven been cash cows after there respective next gen systems started.. From a company perspective that's brilliant aha. Your theory is odd on that one.

There is definitely going to be a 360 and Wii U price-cut next year ,so anything could happen really..

True.  Of course, the Wii U isn't part of this equation.  And the 360's price cut won't have nearly as much of an impact as the PS3's cut to $199.  Which is why the 360's cut in America of $50 for the holidays (started in Oct) did little to nothing to help with its YOY decline.

Lol. Good thread. I had a laugh at all the sony and Turkish haters.

Responding to the OP, I think it is certainly possible that the ps3 reaches 50%. Both the xbox and ps3 will see drops in sales, but as with this year the drop will be greater for the xbox, meaning that the ps3 will likely see a greater share of the console market and certainly could get to 50%. Awesome either way.
