Nintendo of Europe working on Wii U eShop locked Mature content fix

In Europe, you're only able to purchase mature Wii U eShop content during certain late-night hours. Not exactly the most user-friendly way to get things done. This is all because of German law, and Nintendo of Europe's headquarters happens to be in Germany.

Good news is, Nintendo is working on a fix. According to the latest ONM podcast, Nintendo is working to fix this issue, but no specific details were given. Let's hope this is cleared up early in 2013. Thanks to Axis1500 or the heads up!

Man, I hope they fix that shit!!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Stupidest fucking law ever.

Those kids can easily access any mature content on the internet anyway (including whatever images and videos they are hiding on the Wii U), right?

*sigh*

Any idea how they are going to get around this ridiculous law?

Simply adding parental controls for the eShop should do the trick, no?

I thought the problem was because, unlike Sony and MS, Nintendo of Europe's physical headquarters is in Germany. Thus the current download restrictions. How are they supposed to get around this without moving their headquarters to another country in Europe?

Likely some legal appeal to an EU body of some sort.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Maybe they will be able to pass the management duty of the eShop to their different country offices (Nintendo UK, France, Spain, etc.) so only Germany and the european countries without an official Nintendo office will have to deal with this problem.
