It won't do as well as the DS because the graphical leap from DS to 3DS is small, and chances are 3DS's lifespan will be significantly shorter then DS's (IMO), but with the momentum it has going, I can see it easily crossing GB sames, and probably get close to 140 million.

Not sure what you mean. The 3DS is much stronger than the DS. It's like comparing N64 to Gamecube.

Well whatever they didn't sell this year will be sold next right?! 2013 will be big year for all gamers (hopefully nintendo) . 2012 was pretty bad (compared to the last years)

haha yeah, last year was MASSIVE =D

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

This year almost pushed me to selling my 3DS. I was this close, but I decided to stick it out. I've owned a GBA and a DS, and I didn't like either of those systems, but I owned them early in their lifecycles, and I don't think I gave them a fair chance. I will stick it out with the 3DS. I want to enjoy handheld gaming, but I just haven't yet. This year was pretty weak in terms of releases though so I don't think I should judge the system by this year. I hope it impresses next year though.

What type of games do you like? Maybe i can help?

EX if you like shooters and SSB then Kid Icarus is for you.
If you like the old school RE games and RE4 then i suggest RE revelations. (Best one this year over RE racoon operation and RE6 IMO)

Mario kart is simple racer no need to explain,If you like mario then try SM3DL, If you like strategy i highly recommend Fire Emblem. Its a grid style Strategy that brings alot to the table. Other installments that are good with the franchise are the gamecube and wii versions.
If anything jus ask me! I hope this helps you out

I do have Icarus, and Revelations. I had SM3DL but I hated it, my least favorite 3D mario game thus far. I have Mario Kart as well. The only games I'm looking forward to are Fire Embelem and Animal Crossing. Two franchises I have never played. Pretty excited though.

I think it will actually pass the DS once the DS finally dies in the west. The only thing stopping it is if Nintendo releases a new system relatively soon, which is a possibility. An N-phone or something.

Srry you didn't like it, Also like i said before Fire Emblem is a Strategy game. Its hard if you dont want anyone at all to die and a bigger pain to keep all weaklings up with your party lol.
If this is your first time playing the series why not give the gamecube version a go? The wii is the sequel to it and both are fantastic games. Both games (half of the second one) star SSBB Ike.

To me it looks like comparing Gamecube and Wii.

DS from GBA was the difference from sprite based 2D games to fully rendered 3D games. GBA from GB was a jump from 8 bit to 32 bit. 3DS from DS is basically a jump from 3D to true 3D since both processors are 32 bit, and 3DS is only 1.5x as powerful as the DS.

While the 3DS CPU is about 3x as powerful as DS, it needs 2x the power to run the same image twice in order to make that 3D effect. The 3DS has a 268MHz Dual Processor ARM 11 and the DS has 133Mhz ARM 9 + 33Mhz ARM 7 processors. While this makes 3DS technically 80% as powerful as the Wii, since games are 3D, they will only look 40% or so as good.

Thus DS looks better then N64, barely, but much worse then Gamecube, but 3DS looks worse then Gamecube (which is nearly identical to Wii), but not by much. The jump from DS to 3DS was less then 1 console generation jump. Hence the graphical leap is small.

3DS didn't offer much after March of this year. No really it didn't, just Paper Mario (critisized for it's simlified gameplay) and New Super Mario Bros. Another SMB game with no change in environment, and no enhancements to gameplay.

I want a AAA RPG, or Action Adventure Experience. Super Mario 3D Land gave us that, Kid Icarus and Resident Evil gave us a good shooter, and after that we got nothing (I don't like Mario Kart on handhelds, I only play MK with friends via split screen).

Next year, we got some good stuff coming. Fire Emblem, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Dragon Quest VII, Monster Hunter 4(This one isn't for me), Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, etc. However the last 9 months were real dry.
