So just 1 Vita game in the Top 40 and 1 WiiU game in the top 40

Whilst it is bad for both, its a lot, lot worse for the Vita imo. It has been out for 10 months!

Its not worse for vita, there has been no material change in the system's price all year.  The Wii U has all the top 3rd party titles for this year (including a better version of Call of Duty with Assassin's creed, Fifa 13 ) and a new 2D mario game.  Lets try to be pragmatic just this once.

Generally handhelds don't have too big of an impact in the these charts though. 3DS is one of the top sellers, it even outsells PS3 every week, but it's first title is 21st, with only 4 games charting total. Even the dead Wii pulled off 5 games.

Not saying it's good for Vita, but I don't think it's really unexpected.

vita and wiiu got a game in the top 30,hurrah

have to see next week what people are buying up in xmas week although doubt it will be that different,i thought the 3Ds might be higer up in the charts for chrimbo games

Halo 4 doing another 60k in UK - goooood :)

Also good to see Haorizon and Forza 4 still hanging up there.

I disagree.

The Vita install base is triple or more, it has a COD bundle, it has FIFA, AC and numerous quality exclusives.  It also has much, much, much more marketing than WiiU.  The WiiU ads in the UK are rare and, frankly, a bit shit.

edit* On second thoughts, you are right.  Its a sony handheld. They just dont get traction in the UK.  Never have, never will.

@ bold, agree.  However, the Vita adverts are also shit.

I honestly don't think it's great for either Kowen.  Vita has TV adverts + install base and it has one game in the top 40.  Wii-U has shop adverts (seriously, go in a GAME lately, the windows are plastered with Wii-U signs) + only-just-released-boost and it has one game in the top 40.  It's bad for both.  Nothing more needs to be said than that.

I expect the Wii U to bomb really hard in places like europe. Seriously. Why would people with great social life (social life in europe is awesome) spend time with this console? The introverted european gamers already have what they want.

I think you disagree because you have to put sony in a negative light any chance you can.  Sony's official second handheld (mired by issues self-inflicted, which can be corrected over time) not gaining tracking in the UK is not going to make Sony sweat at all.  The Wii U failing to gain traction in the UK and europe as a whole (where 30+% of their total sales come from) will have Nintendo scrambling.

the last 2 places i have lived which are smallish cities they have both closed a game/gamestation where they had 2 they only have one now, makes business sense i guess as they were in trouble weren't they,no one was pushing the WiiU when i was out & about recently,HMV finally got a working dis[play up which will let people see what it can do with the gamepad, for the 360/ps3 they have a 4 screen playable station, they've had it for years now and it always has people playing on it when i am in there

off to do the last chrimbo shop 2moro so will see what has picked up where i am

WiiU is DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMEEEEEDDDDD!!!!!!!!
