I can't tell if this game is as much generic as Gears of War, or even more generic....

How is Gears Of War generic?

Cause it was the first to start this genericness of shooters this gen.  So it's not generic by chance :P.

i'd hate to think so. it would suck to think insomniac's lost its touch. i like wht i've seen so far. i'm not sure wht the big deal is? if anything i would focus on a single player game with this focus. i think it fits best.

Something about a study focus (I.e. E.A. Made them change the game.). Though that could just have been the game's style.

Could be they saw something in Borderlands to make a push with the game, but then also realize they might get hammered if they go too far with the humor, so it looks like it is more serious, but also trying to outdo Borderlands in coop gameplay and customizing.  Take dash of Gears and throw in some Borderlands also with customizing skills and character classes.  End result could end up being total failure though.  Sheesh, how close to Gears of War Judgement are they releasing by the way?

Both are hittin in March, Gears is the 19th in USA but Fuse doesn't have a specific date yet. Tomb Raider,  and Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel are also in March... Yea there are a lot of 3rd person cover shooters with co-op for 1 month, tho I guess Tomb Raider has some other stuff going on.

Oh and God of War: Ascension and BioShock Infinite, just to rub it in a bit more.

To quote FPS Russia from the Black Ops 2 "Surprise" ad... "Not good."

Thanks for the info.  And that is major ouch.  So, wait, EA is releasing ANOTHER cover based Third-person shooter same month Fuse is coming out?  ARE THEY CRAZY?

That's EA partners for you lol. And I would be that EA will be pushing their game harder in terms of marketing than a partners release, both are being sent out to die against Gears of X360 and they are going against God of War on PS3. I think that Metro: LL may also release in March to make it all worse, poor THQ probably can't afford to delay it any more and a I fear that it too might get burried a bit next to Bioshock.

Also keep in mind that Dead Space 3 is February 5 and Crysis 3 is February 19 from EA, Aliens: Colonial Marines from SEGA on the 12th of Feb. So it's not like they are coming out of a dry patch ether. Q1 seems to be the new Q4...

Gameplay wise it looks fun and those character specific weapons are petty unique. Also the story trailer I saw a few weeks ago was good to me. One of the characters did a really cool melee move where she wrapped her legs around the enemies head and then slung them around (hurricanrana) which makes me think there gonna have some cool melee moves.

yea i hope so.
