Yeah after the first Gym most of the talking is either optional or with Nurse Joy.

I think you should've skipped white and got white 2, I found it to be much better.

You don't sound like you're very far into the game. There is a lot of talking in the beginning, but there is more stuff to do as you go further in the game and it gets more fun.

Yeh I had pokemon black but I didn't like it much, there are just way to many pokemon for me now! Im more into red/blue, it all slowly went downhill from there.
