Shenmue 3

how about sega in general

If anyone was going to buy Sega it would be Microsoft. They have worked very closely together on several occasians and it would give MS a much needed local identity to Japanese gamers.

Nintendo has no need for Sega's back cataloge of franchises.

Nintendo and SEGA have far more synergies. Mario and Sonic game, game gear games on the virtual console for example, Sonic always performs the best on nintendo consoles and both companies are japanese (cultural issues and social acceptance). Nintendo has full need of SEGA now. Its the best way to atract the core gamer without affecting the family friendly Nintendo brand.

Microsoft can perfectly buy SEGA, but that would end in disaster. Theres no way the Japanese studios and the US microsoft ones would work well. All this would end up doing is locking SEGA's IP's so no one else can use cause we know microsoft wouldnt bother to get anything else out except Sonic wich is the million seller.

I like how Nintendo fans argue how this is such a huge victory or something. But Bayonetta didn't even sell that much on PS3/360. What makes you think it will be more successful on a Nintendo console? Sure Nintendo is publishing it so that could give it more recognition, but this is a sequel to a game most Wii U owners have never played.

This is probably a game that can bring over some PS3/360 owners, but not by itself. If Nintendo wants to get the "core" gamer then they need to more stuff like this. Bayonetta 2 isn't enough.

In reply to the OP:
Sleeping Dogs was moderately successful on PS3/360. I don't think Square Enix would need help publishing the game, and they wouldn't abandon the audience which made it successful in the first place. So Sleeping Dogs 2 exclusive to Wii U is out of the question.

Anything Sega related? What successful IP has Sega had this generation? Bayonetta has a lot of potential, but this leads back to what I wrote above. Sonic isn't what it used to be, and an making it exclusive would essentially be competing with Mario, which Nintendo would be stupid to do.

We're not saying it is a huge victory, no one is claiming that buying Bayo 2 was the messia that would save the Wii U. All I said was that games like this build goodwill between Nintendo fans, and help make the Wii U a more attractive buy. With a few more of these, they could really seperate themselfs from their competitors.

Funny, I only heard good things about Bayonetta until it was secured for the U.

The internet truly is full of paradoxes.

I'm not really a fan of the genre. I love dungeon crawlers like Diablo and Torchlight, but though I loved DMC when it first came out, I was later not able to get into it for some odd reason.

I'm thinking you're a fan of Bayonetta? I know that the guys who made it put a lot of creativity into it, but I personally haven't played it really. Is it true that it was a respected game prior to the U ordeal?

Nintendo doesn't need Sega franchises, but MS could. Nintendo does fine in Japan, they don't need more Japanese appeal. MS could use a Japan footing.

BTW, your opinion of MS is far too cynical.
