Forums - Nintendo - What other Games could nintendo pull a Bayonetta 2 on?

Any that appeal mainly to the Japanese market really as that is where Nintendo and the Wii U have their strongest hold.

Imagine the outrage if Nintendo gets Halo 5.

Ofcourse I would HATE this to happen but I like to imagine this hypothetical situation. All the chaos and stuff... lol.

I would say there is more chance of winning the lottery 10 times in the row then that...

I mentioned this to fishtacos the other day, but what do you think about Nintendo scooping up some of the recently fired designers from Eurocom and create a new studio to work on a FPS?

(Zippy)
That my friend, is a cracking suggestion. The FPS market is still thriving and it would be great to see Nintendo get a slice of that, if they could create a successful new FPS maybe 3rd parties will see there is a market for that on WiiU.

Good idea but really no point. If you are into FPS' you are going to already own a PS3 or 360 so that market isn't going to be really open to dishing out for a new console for just one game. What they need to do is find a way of really making the pad feature come into it's own. Maybe a mech game where it's your control pannel or some sort of space sim?

Ok, then let me try...
A good game with decent sales but not huge so Nintendo can afford the exclusivity

Persona 5 comes to mind, great reviews decent but not great sales and not very Hardware demanding
Soulcalibur VI, last edition sold less than a million copies and it has brand recognition
No More Heroes 3, the first 2 came to the Wii so a third one is a no brainer this time in HD

I was thinking SoulCalibur VI too :) That would make sense for Nintendo -- get a good fighting franchise and maybe insert a Nintendo character, a la SoulCalibur II.

like with link in it? ;)

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Darksiders. Definitely Darksiders.

i would love that to happen too, but its really a long shot. the sequel didnt do to well, which is a good thing if nintendo wanna publish the next game, but the second game pprobably wont move any significant numbers on wii u, so why would nintendo bother?

and besides, vigile, the developer, probably has a deal with thq...

Well, if Nintendo can make it an exclusive (great relationship with Namco-Bandai because of Super Smash) may be it can add more than just Link, Ganondorf?, Sheik?, Marth?, Shulk?, Dunban? Zael?, any more?

Soul Calibur VI w/Link + Gannondorf would make a lot of sense, especially if it could be whipped up quickly for summer/fall 2013.

Smash Brothers is probably still a ways off.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Nintendo scooped up the following:

Soul Calibur VI

Bayonetta 2

Darksiders 3

Ninja Gaiden IV - With Itagaki overseeing.

Devil's Third

Rayman (franchise)

Mistwalker RPG(s)

Look at how Sould Calibur V sold.....Barely 1m on PS3360 combined.

A more recent example is Tekken Tag Tournament 2. It's not doing too hot on the Wii U or even PS3/360.

My point? A bunch of mediore games that struggle to hit 1m won't do anything to differentiate Wii U from PS3/360. People are already not buying the Soul Caliburs and Tekkens on consoles they already own, so the odds of them buying a Wii U for these is close to 0%.
