Well... while he shouldn't laugh at the outcome of decisions made on the PS3 his statement is still factual :

"For the start of the generation, both Microsoft and Nintendo fans were allies somehow, we critice hard the very big mistakes of Sony this generation and laugh how much money the lose with the whole PS3-Cell-Blu-ray fiasco.

 

Are you telling me you would consider that at the same level as "the console is a broken paperweight" ?

yes i do both comments as you said are the types of comments that would attract hatred... wasn't that the root of your point in the first place?

here we have a another shining example

Not to mention some of them are borderline delusional and should be admitted to some form of psychiatric care. I can't help that I smirk every time I hear some Sony news like stock being junk status or anything about Vita. "

BS on this, I like all 3 and I get along with myself just fine. I also bounce from one manufacterer to another. This gen my first system was a MS brand, Sony my second and my last a Nintendo one, next gen will probably be the exact opposite. My Last gen I went Sony first, then Nintendo, then Sega, and the ones before that Nintendo was first and Sony/Sega second.

One of my friends owns a PS3 and a Wii and his brother owns a 360, they are great friends despite their very different prefference in games.

In fact every one I know in person tends to like all consoles. I have friends who switched from a PS3 to a 360 and vice versa when their console broke down, and almost all 360 owners I know either own a Wii, or have a relative who does.

But I do know some solo PS3 owners, who don't care for Wii/360 exclusives. Call of Duty nuts.....

Seems silly, it is a good system and worth owning.  It would be one thing if people you knew that were annoying, but to not get something because some anonymous people on the internet annoyed you, its just silly...

I feel the same way. I took a 6  months break from the site and I enjoyed my Vita/PS3 games a lot more then before. Bought a lot more Sony games then usual do. I return back to the site recently and already cancel pre-order for 3 PS3 games. I own 157 PS1 games, 298 PS2 games and 102 PSP games. Join Vgchartz during PS3 launch and I own less then 40 PS3 games. BTW I love the VIta and nothing will change that even dumb ass Sony Fanboys.

i think you'll find this interesting. it's not about who hates who. it's about who started this BS, and who has the most egg on thier face after the dust has settled.

ninty fans had nothing to argue about when this gen. started, so they had title to say. Xbox fans had allot to prove based on the fact they were the new kids (just go with it} in town.

Sony fans had nothing to prove, because thier console ruled all. they just had to hold on to power.

 

so who started the hate? Sony fans having thier Zuse like powers during the era that was PS2, bashed thier rivals into oblivion and expected that same outcome in 7th gen.

now when MS, and ninty fans smelt blood they went hard digging and beating against the the Ravens (football) like defence that would never waver. and with Sony fans great defence. came thier (football) Patriot like offence.

i'll cut this short. Sony fans dug thier own grave in the 7th gen. with thier reaper like tactics in the 6th gen. but you can't barry the unrelenting/unbeatable now can you?

but as for me. i was never an Xbox fan. always an MS fan though. i've defended and trashed the big 3 all gen. ninty more then the other 2 but they've all disapointed me in one way or another.

when i first got interested in console sales, i never thought i'd see wht i've seen in the forums on this site back when i first became a member in 2008. i joined to curve that trend, but it didn't last long.  

yet in the end, i'm still one of the most balanced posters on the site, and will jump on either of the publisher, developer, or either of the big3 who do something stupid.


i don't think there is such a thing as an origin of hate - it's not like all of a sudden console wars started - and the general way you perceive things seem to be based on emotions a bit too much imo

how can you consider the xbox as a "broken paperweight" and consider yourself one of the most "balanced posters" on this site is beyond me.

so Rolstopable can make off hitting comments like that, but MDJ can't!!!!! lighten up, know when a joke is a joke bud. 

as for origins of hate. no real banter happened before the N64/PS1 era. when popularity hits. egos explode when there's a rival.
