New Million Seller! Monster Hunter 4

Surprising no one (well, almost no one), Monster Hunter 4 opened with over one million sales at retail in Japan, becoming 3DS million-seller number 17. Surprising a few more people than that, it was one of the most successful openings for a Monster Hunter game to date, surpassed at retail only by the Holiday 2010 release of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd for the PSP.

Monster Hunter 4 has already surpassed the LTD Japanese sales of all previous Monster Hunter games except for Portable 3rd, Portable 2nd G (Freedom Unite), and 3G (3 Ultimate). It seems certain to surpass 4 million lifetime sales in Japan alone; a potential Western release could help it exceed 5 million global sales. Let's curb our expectations a bit, though: at the very least, the game will smash through Capcom's projected 2.8 million sales in seven months, especially after digital sales are factored in.

Actually MH4 sold the best in the franchise FW! barely though and 2 days of sales

I mentioned digital sales, and we all know by now what the tally is. But this thread is about cold, hard retail numbers as recorded by VGChartz! I have to be consistent.

wat else? mean million sellers? This Year we will see Pokemon XY/DK/LoZ/Mario+Luigi!

Probably Puzzle and Dragons Z as well. Nothing else comes to mind at the moment but there's always the possibility of an old close one (DQ Monsters maybe) limping across the finish line over the Holidays. I guess Sonic Lost World 3DS has a shot.

New Million Seller! Pokemon X/Y

What do you say we keep this short and sweet? Pokemon did as Pokemon does. X/Y represents the first ever simultaneous global release of a main-series installment in the franchise, and it shows in the numbers. The titles were released on a Saturday, so their first "week" of sales only accounts for one day. VGChartz claims over 4 million copies were sold at retail on that day, while Nintendo claims to have shipped over 4 million copies in the first two days of release. Whatever the exact number is, it's obvious that Pokemon X and Y have earned spot #18 on the list in the OP.

This does leave the matter of the poll a bit unresolved, though, as it's unclear whether sales were in the 3-4 million or 4-5 million range. I suspect the over-4-million figure on VGChartz may be adjusted downward in time. All we can truly conclude is that voters in the over 5 million and under 3 million ranges were definitely incorrect.
