Pretty much was, with the decline of quality of Console JRPG, the second place would go to PSP. 

(I assume you are talking about JRPGs)

I love both JRPGS and WRPGS but the DS's selection is unmatched this gen.

In that case, he has a conflicting sentence. "was" is past tense. But "this generation" is present tense. Either way, "this generation" should instead say "last generation."
