Calling it!

Sony had a 21% drop in sales with 710K this November in the US.

Source? Or just guessing?

The mean point between the two numbers.

A guestimact  (guess, estimate, fact)

So, this NPD was pretty uneventful. I know I wasn't really surprised with anything, sadly...

Cool story guys, now we just need some official Sony numbers. I also think it's funny how on Gaf, the Chartz is "that site that won't be mentioned" (or whatever lame moniker they came up with) and everyone here is Gaf this, Gaf that. I don't care, I mean I love Gaf too but I don't recall seeing so much Gaf here, LOL.

That's after NPD stopped to give us numbers... so the unique reliable information we have now is the @creamsugar in GAF... in fact almost all the NPD leak came from this guy.

I just read the NPD thread there... no other thread.

Yeah, it used to be nice when we'd get all NPD numbers including a breakdown of the top 10 (not combined like it is now.) It's speculated that Sony pressured NPD into not releasing the numbers as the PS3 numbers were really bad before.

Now we don't even get clear shipping numbers from Sony as the Vita numbers are so bad they are trying to obfuscate them by combining platforms.

Unfortunately because of their financial situation I don't see that changing any time soon.  A public statement when the numbers aren't so glowing could prove damaging to the stock value.

It's just a matter of waitting for the HW numbers. Nintendo will include them in their charts after their next quarterly report.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

That just doesn't make sense because PS3 numbers were way worse early on and then improved significantly right around the time when they stopped showing anything.

But for most of people this NPD US numbers = WW numbers and you know the Sony numbers always are bad compared to Microsoft numbers in US.

vgc did well in the end then as did AC3

good to see that source graph of lifetime sales for consoles again where now the Wii has fallen way off the PS2 pace which was always held up back in the day as if people thought it would continue like that and not drop off

That's a no then.

OT

shocking how badly Sony exclusive 1st party software sells.

We still dont know PS3 numbers...all we know is that its greater than 630k but less than last year.

So what makes you say that?

I'd imagine if they were closer to last year's numbers than 630k Sony would have commented. So 700k seems likely.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
