I'm just not going to care about the timeline, ever

I like to enjoy every game on it's own

Gametrailers did an episode on Zelda timeline. It is really well done even for people who are not into it. http://www.gametrailers.com/full-episodes/en597n/timeline-the-legend-of-zelda Posting the link. Maybe you'll like it.

I really enjoyed the timeline episode for its supremely high production value, but I'm still in Roma's camp.

I like to just enjoy each game as a standalone game. Other than the obvious sequels. It makes things considerably less complicated.

I understand what you mean. As i haven't played much of the zelda franchise. I loved how much depth and lore there was for those who sought it. The rest can just enjoy it for the gameplay.

Am still not sure where to start. Wind Waker and the DS games seems like it for now.

it is easier for developers to use fantasy settings because they don't need to care much about logic or reality or physics.
and it will become a lot easier when you even ignore a logical timeline.
than you can do whatever you want, especially a great thing for lazy coders.

These people need to find a better hobby.

For example, gaming.

Ironically, you would've had to play the games in order to have a theory on the chronology of the series to begin with.

Wait what? 0.o

This timeline was confusing with 3 different timelines but now there are four? I guess the CD-i games fall into this new one...

DAFAQ?! Nintendo is making this up as they go.

Yeah, you can tell Nintendo just caved to the Zelda zealots with this.  Still, I think it's fun.

None of the Zelda games had any real connections aside from the games we know for sure follow up other games (such as Zelda II to LoZ or Wind Waker/Majora's Mask with Ocarina of Time).  But atleast having an official timeline in place gives them the opportunity to fill games in where the connections are still a bit shaky.  I would love for them to strengthen the timeline by filling it in with "connecting" games.  I think it'd be pretty awesome.

Wow, turns out the original Mario 64 music wasn't completed properly, and Koji Kondo just released samples of what WOULD have been the completed work.

At first I was like :|

but then at the bowser fortress one I just broke out laughing. God I hate that sound.

never thought zelda had anything to do with timelines. sounds interesting though. i've got alot of zelda to catch up on.

What is the problem? The idea goes like this: Three beings are reborn again and again in the same world, spanning among ages, fighting the same battle over the ultimate power again and again. So who cares which one comes after the other.

And since spirits need to have vacations once in a while, there are all the other games not playing in Hyrule.
