I always figured Rare/Microsoft were just doing their due diligence by renewing the trademark. I'd be really surprised if either party intended on making a sequel. Maybe a HD re-release. Like we need more of those.

Don't think MS has any intent in making a Killer Instinct game.

Fighting games(with few exceptions) are a dying breed.

Can you explain this?

MS execs don't take risks.

They may not have interest in making a new game, but they don't want to lose the brand too.

Just imagine what would happen, if microsoft lost KI brand and a rival company was allowed to make a new game and managed to make money with the brand they didn't care ?

Heads would roll for sure.

Yep, anything but Smash just doesn't cut it anymore.  I'm glad to see Smash on top because I don't like button smasher fighting games.

Well at least on the bright side I still got it on my n64. Greatfun turning up the speed to max.

What Microsoft has is not the Rare of old. It is a shell.

This kind of made me giggle, is that a bad thing? XD

I read this earlier before :(

I'm sure it will happen.....one day!

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

Kind of odd.

What idiot would mistake it for something owned and aired years ago on FOX?!

"Real" gamers would never make such a mistake.

I think Microsoft will respond and make their case. Microsoft seems to have more of a claim to the title anyway. The game came out before the television series, and if there weren't any issues at the time. Then it stands to reason that there shouldn't be any issues now. Microsoft may even be able to get a release from Fox, because the name being in searches might actually bring more attention to their product.
